Take an example bi-weekly paycheck, with week before issuance. The maximum that will last is two weeks, and another before panic. Take a weekly paycheck and halve that. People will fall back on family. Interesting things will start happening.

Those are questions involving trade offs.
Should we have exported industry and tech there? No.
Should we have terminated and repatriated all chinese employees in research and development? Yes.
Why not? Optimism that the Chinese would join the European order as did Japanese.

But… That’s $173B that goes directly into the economy, bypassing the financial system.
