If you put together a bunch of guys at the opposite end of the spectrum, you can accomplish anything you’re willing to devote your attention to. It’s not complicated. You just have to have the IQ, and the desire. Entrenched fragile bureaucracies that lack popular support are merely prey. And they’re overconfident prey.

    Reverse Patriotism is no better an excuse for irrational and morally blind behavior, justification of immoral action, and immoral inaction, than is the absurd expansionary patriotism of the Neocons. Hating the state does not justify looking for excuses to hate the state, nor applying selection bias, and every other cognitive bias possible to justify your hatred. It does not mean justifying the lunatic fringe, nor abandoning reason and morality. You cannot both call the Neocons stupid and immoral and at the same time support Putin’s expansionism.

    The only moral violent political action is self determination in pursuit of freedom. Both of those properties must exist at the same time – self determination AND liberty. One cannot morally pursue the construction of corruption, even if it benefits yourself, by means of self determination. One can only morally pursue freedom and non-corruption via self determination.

    Facts are facts, Reverse Patriotism as Justification is not honest, moral, or rational. It is aiding and abetting the usurpation of liberty. Period. Without exception. WIthout justification.

    Ukrainians sought to shed russian oppression once again, and evicted one of the demonstrably, factually, most corrupt politicians in the world. Russia, in fear of contagion of the revolt, violated the territorial integrity of another nation, and stole a vast portion of the country via armed conquest.

    Ukrainians in all parts of the country, in every independent survey, demonstrate a supermajority desire to retain their independence as a sovereign nation. Period.

    Meanwhile the Russian state, through state media, has hired THOUSANDS of people to conduct a disinformation media campaign, and a social media campaign, to fabricate news, spread it, support it in social media, and to overwhelm opponents by sheer numbers.

    The Guardian alone has to edit out cut 40,000 of these posts a day, and they only remove the fraction that they are certain are part of the state sponsored campaign by russians to fabricate news for consumptoin by well meaning fools.

    We are all aware that the media creates consensus, it does not arbitrate it. And the russians, copying the germans from ww2, have done so.

    I am an anti-universalist, pro-ethnonationalist, because I believe that is the most likely means by which peole will be free. I advocate the overthrow of the american and european governments. And I am an advocate of even the rather foolish russian people, who I love.

    But corruption is corruption is corruption, and conquest is conquest, and I know the difference between the pursuit of freedom, and the pursuit of tyranny.

    And if you do not, you are not sufficiently wise to call yourself other than a libertine. Although I will refer to you in private as an anti-social, reverse patriot, full of loathing for societies that clearly reject you, and you them.

    Interesting prognostication. Not one that is supported by the evidence. At no time in history has communication and coordination been available to so many, nor has the systemic infrastructure upon which a society rests, been so fragile. If it were true what you say, the DC Sniper would have had no economic impact, and the rise of professional international insurgents would not have become the de facto means by which war is being conducted. Multiple books, some fairly popular have been written on this subject. Not only is it effective to use systemic facility to drive an efficient economy into shock, and a government in to visible discredit and failure, it’s cheap, and it takes fewer people, a shorter time, than at any point in history. The problem americans face is actually (a) a catalyzing event, and (b) general awareness of a possible solution or alternative to the current order.

    Russia stole territory. Lets just estimate the value of Crimea and the oil and gas fields. Say, at $4T Euros. So we will just take $4T euros as gas as payment for the seized territory at 22% interest, which is the going rate for high risk capital. This means Ukraine will not have to pay for gas for many years.

    If they don’t like it then we must collect our debt from Russia forcibly.

    I think that’s a pretty good deal. Don’t you?

    Take the war to Russia. Russia is a fragile economy. We’ve blown a few gas lines already. It works. These lines are fragile. They cover vast distances. Those vast distances are very expensive to defend. They are nearly impossible to logistically defend.

    Russia cannot leverage european dependence on gas if it cannot sell gas. Europe cannot remain neutral, because it is dependent upon gas, if it cannot purchase gas.

    The army has artillery shells in storage. Every shell, easily converted into a bomb, deprives the Russian economy of tens of millions of dollars. A few shells in sequence deprive the Russian economy of tens of billions.

    You know, 50% of Russians are dependent upon that revenue. The entire corrupt pyramid depends upon that gas and oil.

    Take the war to Russia.

    ITS NOT ENOUGH TO SAY ‘WE’RE ALL THICK LIBERTARIANS’

    It’s not enough to say that in the end we’re all ‘thick’ libertarians. That’s not honest. The ‘thin’ libertarians are wrong, and harmful to the cause of liberty. They’ve had 30+ years to test their theory, and it’s a demonstrated failure. It is a failure because it’s an unethical and immoral basis for cooperation in a polity.

    So it’s not enough to say ‘we’re all thick. The purpose of thick libertarianism is to acknowledge the failure of thin “rothbardian” libertarianism. Not to expand it. Not to critique it. But to openly state that it is an unethical and immoral failure in both theory and practice.

    Now, the criticism that ‘thick’ libertarians haven’t any answers is true. But having a WRONG answer (rothbardian ‘thin’ libertarianism) and having no answer yet are two different things.

    Thin ‘rothbardian’ libertarianism is false. Thick Left-libertarianism is not yet articulated as more than an intuitive and non-rational supposition. Thick right- libertarianism is at least part of an answer. thick Aristocratic Egalitarian Libertarianism is the entire answer. But AEL is not for free riders. It says we must acquire liberty through direct action by insuring the property rights of all other property owners.

    A lot of libertarians are trying to find a way to justify their claims for liberty at zero cost to themselves. That wont work. It hasn’t worked. Aristocratic Egalitarianism states that we must obtain our insurance against violations of our property by entering into an insurance contract with others, to employ organized violence against any and all transgressors and usurpers.

    No magical, supernatural or fantasy origins for rights are necessary.
