The only way for the right and left to be happy, and not war, is to separate. And the longer I work on this problem the more determined I am. We have the prosperity and opportunity to pursue our moral instincts, have no reason to compromise with one another, and I certainly have no desire to rule people I consider disgusting, revolting and immoral, so the only solution is devolution of the federal government and the release of the states to produce commons and culture suited to the preferences of the people. This will result in blue city states, and otherwise self-sorting new states – probably by county. And at that point we will learn that we are sorting by ancestry and subculture more so than anything else.

    THE ME REORGANIZATION
I’m not complaining. I’m describing. US departure from world policing in particular ME, leaves IL a limited window on IR. CN broker of IR&SA agreement swaps democratic US for authoritarian CN. Formally eliminating US need for involvement. My point is that the postwar experiment in world free trade to drag people out of poverty succeeded, but only so long as US paid for it at the cost of US laboring, working, and middle classes. US can’t pay it any longer (Trump). US withdrew from ME. Tried to withdraw from Europe. RU action reformed nato and restored European defense industries that US had been paying for, finally solving that problem. And now the present ‘reorder’ of the world is going on about as expected. With RU, CN, IR, and possibly TR as the relevant hot points. US/CN war almost certain w/in three years. Hard to see IL not move on IR while US not otherwise occupied. US will use the next 3 years to replenish arms supplies. RU will be done at that point. CN should move by then. CN will wipe out both CN and US stocks, but US will win. If IL waits it’s too much of a risk. Multipolar world will arise I assume, by, as predicted, a return to the ‘conflict of civilizations and races’ as Huntington predicted (rather obviously I might add).

ISRAEL IS THE LAST HOLDOUT IN THE MIDDLE EAST – AND IT’S ON ITS WAY OUT OF RULE OF LAW
(We are all reverting to our pre-industrial traditions, because, it turns out, multiculturalism doesn’t work, globalism doesn’t work, and we can’t even change our methods of governance.)

Kind of humorous that #Bibi is trying and likely to succeed in turning #Israel into an authoritarian ethnostate, abandoning democracy and the rule of law, given that they’re surrounded by authoritarian ethnostates. Without Israel, the illusion of democracy in the middle east is done. And with it the European (neocon) presumption that the rest of the world could equally ‘grow up’ into responsible world citizens, conducting peaceful cooperative Smithian trade, in imitation of the long history of the many-states of Europe, instead of the chaotic tribalism of their traditions.
India reverts to Hinduism, china to totalitarianism, Russia to totalitarianism, Iran to totalitarianism, Africa stuck with her border problems (we Europeans created) and a population unable to feed itself, and here in the anglosphere, we see the will to separate once again in to many small germanic states, so that we may have the various different societies we desire, even if we all share the same want of sovereignty, liberty, and freedom, and the prosperity that arises from our rule of law, participatory government, and work ethic.

Just a bit of a tweak.
If a bank is holding treasuries (svb was), and those treasuries are illiquid because teh Fed raised rates to 5%,
It’s a fed created crisis. So either have the fed just buy them back at the original price (not a problem) and re-sell at 5%, and have the FED take the hit, OR, instead of taking the hit, take bank stock (as you’re suggesting) as compensation, nationalizing the bank, and don’t take the hit.

SCHWAB A VICTIM OF THE FED’S BAIT AND SWITCH
-“Schwab transferred almost $189 billion of securities to a held-to-maturity basis last year( Treasury Bonds), and had $14 billion in unrealized losses on that portfolio of agency mortgage-backed securities at year-end. Unlike SVB, however, most of Schwab’s customer deposits are insured.”–

FED/Treasury created proble, is an easily fed-created fix. Redeem the bonds at original price and take the hit so customers and investors don’t have to. The govt HAS the money that was used to puchase the bonds.

Yes I’m oversimplifying but I’m trying to get the point across that the fed created a hazard.
