    WHY DO LIBERTARIANS ALWAYS LOSE?

Libertinism. Meaning incorrect attribution of legal, economic, political and military value to costs of high-cost, high-trust norms. Conservatives do not make this mistake – if anything they over-value norms. Libertines discount norms. Progressives never even consider them or find prohibition on their consumption antithetical.

  • Legal Prohibitions on Free Riding Must Expand With Minimum Friction

[E]ntrepreneurs innovate. Property is necessary for calculation and incentives. Trust is necessary for economic velocity (rates). As complexity expands so does the means of free riding and theft, so legal prohibitions must expand in criminal, ethical, moral, conspiratorial coverage at a marginally indifferent rate from the complexity of associations in order to maintain trust and economic velocity.

This state of affairs is only possible in homogenous polities.

The rate at which free riding accumulates, and therefore the rate at which trust erodes, and economic velocity declines, is determined by the time between an innovation in free riding, and its suppression by law.

  • We Took The  Family For Granted

[W]e spend all this time, text and talk on the individual, women, government and economy. But we took the structure of reproduction for granted.

We compete, using 1) the structure of group competition, 2) the structure of reproduction, 3) structure of pedagogy, 4) structure of production, and 5) structure of commons.

Liberalism has been nothing more than an exercise in hedonistic consumption at the expense of the civilization that made that consumption possible. We destroyed the family. And with it, our civilization.

It’s solvable. But it’s going to require blood and treasure to do it.

    Curt Doolittle
    The Propertarian Institute

    Johannes Meixner :
There is no better way of productively reproducing than the nuclear family with two partners both merging assets together, and not separating until the offspring is at least adult (death is preferable).

    Curt Doolittle:
Yep. Exclusive of formal institutions that is true. Although I could argue that a 2M-person homogenous-polity closed to immigration, with a great deal of government-as-insurer, and without marriage could work if savings were enforced on all parties in greatly expanded version of the Singaporean or Galveston models.

    Johannes Meixner:
…well if you enjoy risk transfers beyond the top level required to offset moral hazard, you can choose to do that.

  • We Discovered Truth-Telling

[W]hile Propertarianism does provide the missing logic of cooperation that Mises promised us, and that the prohibition of free riding is the single cooperative problem to be overcome, that the central proposition of Propertarianism is the western struggle to testify truthfully to one’s jury, and that trust is the result of that struggle, and economic velocity the result of that trust. And that economic velocity is the reason for both phases of the west’s rapid advancement: the classical and modern worlds that both times have dragged man out of ignorance, and in our most recent case, dragged him out of poverty.

So if I want something to be learned, it is that: we discovered truth telling.
