It was fought because industrialization brought about the end of all empires – which has been a boon for humanity. At least until Russia, China and Iran set about trying again.

The stereotype that English cuisine is inferior, particularly when compared to French cuisine, seems to have roots in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Here’s a brief exploration of the origins and perpetuation of this stereotype:

    Historical Context:
French Culinary Tradition: French cuisine has a long-standing tradition of gourmet cooking, with a rich variety of dishes, techniques, and regional specialties. It has been historically regarded as a high art, with famous culinary schools and globally renowned chefs.

British Culinary Tradition: English cuisine, on the other hand, has historically been viewed as more straightforward, focusing on simple preparation methods and the quality of ingredients. It has a rich tradition of baked goods, meats, and puddings.

    19th Century:
Industrial Revolution: During the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, England underwent rapid urbanization, which led to a decline in the quality of food and culinary traditions. Many people moved to the cities where they had less access to fresh, quality ingredients.

French Culinary Prestige: Meanwhile, French cuisine was enjoying a golden age, with the establishment of haute cuisine, which was characterized by high-quality ingredients, intricate preparation methods, and a strong emphasis on presentation. French chefs like Auguste Escoffier were revolutionizing the culinary world.

    Early 20th Century:
World Wars: The two World Wars in the first half of the 20th century further strained the UK’s food supply, leading to rationing and a focus on sustenance over culinary finesse. This period saw a decline in the quality and variety of food available in the UK.

French Culinary Schools: In contrast, France continued to nurture its culinary traditions, with many culinary schools and institutions that preserved and promoted the art of French cooking.

  • Whenever someone criticizes any civilization look in to every other civilization

Whenever someone criticizes any civilization look in to every other civilization’s equal crimes. Why is it that europeans speak truth before face, and no other people on earth does, and why is it that europeans invented rule of law, participatory government, (the republic), geometry, reason, empiricism, science, and why is it europeans maintained trifunctionalism: competing legal, martial, and religious elites, and never fell into the monopoly of stat(china) or religion (middle east) or the odd combination of religion and caste (India)?
There are no horrors in Europe the equivalent of those in china, the middle east in particular. The question is why? Why would confessing be so important to europeans that they would use the torture devices they did while others just executed with abandon?

  • Christianity has the best ethical record which is rather easily demonstrated, an

Christianity has the best ethical record which is rather easily demonstrated, and Christian behavior worldwide produces superior outcomes wherever it goes by preparing civilizations for middle class majority civ and rule of law. No religion can perfect mankind but so far Greco Roman logic, reason, philosophy and institutions combined with germanized Christianity despite its many failings have outpaced, out innovated, out produced, out prospered all civilizations combined with only the Japanese and South Koreans producing superior trust social harmony and good government. We can argue stoicism was better, and there is nothing good in Christianity that wasn’t already better in both stoicism, and in emerging Roman sun cults compatible with our origins and history. But stoicism is costly to teach and requires literacy. Christianity evolved from primitive older institutional religions, and was imposed upon our people to kill off western Roman aristocracy creating subservience to Byzantium and her profit from straddling both civilizations. Christianity made those same Greco Roman values available for the vast number of women slaves and peasants who were neither literate or educated in the context of the familiar superstition of their primitive understanding. The church figured most of this out by the time of Aquinas, and the scholastics expanded it, and we see it’s secularization in the laws of England and the natural law of Blackstone in his commentaries and Jefferson’s deism and Jeffersonian bible. Unfortunately the church upon encountering Darwin doubled down on superstition instead of claiming victory for their unification in natural law, and opened the door for a reformation of Judaism in the pseudoscience of the Marxist to woke cults, just as the failure of the stoicism to institutionalize Roman into institutional form opened the door for superstitious Christianity. Why? Because there will always be hucksters willing to spread comforting lies by which to manipulate the weak of mind unless honest men pay the price of defense by spreading the discipline of adapting to uncomfortable truths instead. We don’t invest in mindfulness by the stoic method, so we pay the price for a half educated people. And still we do better than all others despite the vulnerability to conquest Christianity teaches as universalism – and in particular it’s appeal to women for whom responsibility for scarcity is frightening and always evaded.
