For unfortunate reasons, westerners and russians are studying different pre-modern histories, when the combination of english and russian is pretty thorough. In fact, I am not sure we can’t learn more from russian archeology, anthropology, and ethnology than we can from western. It’s almost impossible to understand anything east of germany from western history.

There has been a pretty concerted effort in russia to translate western texts, but the effort hasn’t been reciprocated.

Military histories are always more informative than political or philosophical. And economic histories explain why…

AMERICANS ARE ALWAYS WRONG – GREAT WAR VERSION

    by Eric Blankenburg

America should have never gotten involved in the Great War. Without American involvement the war would have ended with a new balance of power like previous European wars. There wouldn’t have been an absolute surrender, reparations imposed by the French, and the German hyperinflation, all of which created the Nazis.

There is also a good case to be made that without America’s involvement, the Germans wouldn’t have signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk so they could focus on the war with the west. Had Russia stayed in the war, they communists may not have been able to consolidate their power across Russia.

The Progressive Era and especially Woodrow Wilson set the stage for so many government evils in the U.S. that we see today. The income tax, Federal Reserve, direct election of Senators, alcohol prohibition, first drug prohibition laws, and American involvement in European wars, which the Founder warned us against. The Nazis also learned their crud views on eugenics from American and British Progressives.

THEY WERE THE MOST NAIVE GENERATION, NOT THE BEST.

Try having that conversation with people who suffered through the unnecessary pains of world war two:

Actually, it was a catastrophe. the Germans were right. They were trying to save the world from communism. And all you naive, ignorant, self righteous morons did nothing with your sacrifice except make the world safe for communism and postmodernism and the destruction of the family, our traditions, our constitution, and our civilization.

You weren’t the greatest generation, but the dumbest, and the boomers you left behind you were the most fucking evil sons and daughters of pandora that ever walked the earth.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_JonesGENERATIONS: SORRY, BUT BOOMERS > JONES GENERATION > GEN X.

    Jones is a bridge generation.

That’s me, Gates, Jobs, Ellison and such.

We’re the ones who grew up with the oil crisis, iran hostages, and terrible unemployment, the first personal computers, space shuttle explosion, and the reagan revolution.

Did you have a TI? TRS-80? Commodore? Amiga? Apple 1?

Was the movie “Wall Street” your career ambition? Were you called a Yuppie? Did you wear skinny ties? Punk Much? Did you see the first star wars, alien, and blade runner in the theate? Did you read Neuromancer and snow crash when they came out and try to bring that world about?

The problem is that demographers use the rates of population and sociologists use the experiences and motivations. My generatoin has none of the slacker reputation of gen x, just the opposite.

We were raised with the highest expectations and promises, only to emerge into our teens to see the catastrophe of 1970’s, the consequences of the Great Society Movement, the crime, the drugs, the decay, the unemployment, the Carter administration and we sought opportunity in the technical revolution to work our asses off and make it big’

TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES. Hence the name.

The suppression of local rents by the empire and the increases in trade from the north sea to india made choices available to the underclasses in the past, just as the industrial revolution made choices available to the underclasses in modernity. And so you’re saying that because it is far harder to train those unwashed filthy, ignorant, and rather stupid masses in rational thought, the common law of reciprocity, and stoic virtues, and heroic myths, that we should allow the spread of marxist, socialist, postmodern, pseudoscientific, supernatural, and authoritarian falsehoods and allow another abrahamic dark age ‘because the self same uplifted underclasses cannot bear the reality of their lower sexual, social, economic, and political market value, despite their newfound ability to experience, and consume, because of their betters. So yes, there was an abrahamic dark age. No it does not matter what semi-domesticated animals feel, want, desire, when they can be trained to be at least far better domesticated animals with a bit of cost and effort. We lost over a THOUSAND YEARS, we lost multiple great civilizations, multiple lines of intellectual thought, because of the jewish conversion of roman deflationary language (idealism) into moral sophisms (that you do not know you are yourself repeating at this very moment). The christian destruction of knowledge, the arab destruction of knowledge and the failure of jews with the greatest ability and greatest literacy to do NOTHING AT ALL GOOD and everything possible bad to mankind before we forced aristotelianism upon them in exchange for their freedom – no longer worrying that they would cause prior catastrophes. So I do understand history. I just don’t make EXCUSES for the familiar, the weak, who, out of twisting my compassion would again put us into ignorance and deceit. Why is it a good, to tolerate those subhumans lacking the agency to face existential reality? It’s demonstrably not. It’s just more rewarding to rule them, and profit from doing so than it is to outright kill them off. Or at least, it was until recently. Now it looks like the opposite is true.

IT ALL BEGINS WITH THE MILITIA

    by Igor Rogov

    (brilliant)

The “English” success is more easily attributable to one or two social inventions of Saxons – the free man on his own land, also known as churl and an armed militia or fyrd, which were quite distinct from greek or early roman examples because they persisted as something very essential and spiritual entities which resulted in Magna Carta which was then revitalised in American constitution.
