    THE PAGAN, CHRISTIAN, AND FUTURE SACRED

    I am, at this stage of my life, extremely conscious of the Germanic and Scandinavian pagan side of my upbringing – possibly because of the influence of my paternal grandfather and his father’s educations. Possibly because I lived in a very germanic town as a child. Possibly because of the remnants of prewar education. Possibly because that category of knowledge has been actively (((suppressed))) by the left in the postwar period.

    I have more in common with, and experience with, Shakespeare’s work as a ‘bible’ than the semitic one. And far more exposure to folklore than Biblical stories.

    This is despite the fact that my mother is a die hard french catholic in the ancient tradition – and I completed the catholic teachings, schooling, and sacrements.

    My own reading formed more of my ‘religion’ than did all the teachings.

    I am fairly sure that when I was in church, I ignored the speeches of the priests and that my concept of god, the saints and the heroes is a pagan one.

    Not by choice but by circumstance.

    This is one of the reasons I understand that if we all went to church and heard it in latin, without understanding a word that was spoken, we would get the benefits of religion simply by the ritual and the sacredness of the circumstance.

    If we instead of listening to latin we did not understand (which I recall, since I am old enough to remember the latin mass) heard the pagan stories and lessons of history, and gave the oath of allegiance (lord’s prayer) to one another, the same result would manifest in the population.

    All the good of religion comes from mindfulness, and mindfulness from training the mind and emotions to intuit (habituate) using beneficial norms rather than animal impulses, and to feel good about it.

    You know, a homogenous polity can feel boring, and the cheap novelty of different peoples interesting, exciting and a learning experience. But it is one thing to import different peoples, and another to visit different peoples. And that is that we reward others by visiting, and impose costs upon others by staying.

    Relationship dynamics have completely changed. But without a MARKETING CAMPAIGN, repeatedly smashing it into people’s men’s faces, NOBODY is “getting it”. And as a consequence we see a anxious, spooked, flocking of everyone’s frames creating a chaos of confusion as we seek a restoration, when the problem is that we can’t.

    “IT’S ALL DIFFERENT NOW”: Men and women NEED each other less with every passing moment. That fact changes the family dynamic. Technology has freed us from interdependence.

    Marriage WAS the alternative to prostitution. Now prostitution is criminal and marriage is passé. It used to be both genders marry young and have several kids to work the farm. Families were an asset that provided lifetime discounts and insurance, allowed for the accumulation of capital, prevented parasitism on the property and efforts of others, and prevented male on male violence.

    Now, it’s extremely smart for the youngest women to have a single child by several different men of high income with established careers – preferably in marriages.

    Her incentives are to increase her income by being a baby maker but siphoning off of men – who lose marketability to other women, lose the ability to accumulate resources, and are doomed to poverty in old age.

    Under those conditions, men have become indentured slaves until the child is a mid 20’s adult – and wards of the state in old age. Children in the past were considered adults at 14 or 15 and they had to work and some married. Today they infantilized by a female dominated educational system, the aggressive suppression of masculinity and male dominance play that is necessary for men to invest in family, society, and polity.

    To pretend that the natural order is a traditional conservative nuclear family is ridiculous: the natural order is prostitution.

    Prostitution was accepted as legitimate for thousands of years. ALL women were prostitutes.

    Men only “married” or sometimes took care of the women that had a kid by him through rape most likely.

    The men could organize, hunt, kill and rape.

    Now they are tax slaves.

    What does this mean? It is no longer in men’s incentive to preserve a government and social order that reduces them to serfdom, isolation, old age loneliness, and poverty.

    GALILEO’S CHILDREN

    Despite being a genuinely pious Roman Catholic, Galileo fathered three children out of wedlock with Marina Gamba. They had two daughters, Virginia (born in 1600) and Livia (born in 1601), and a son, Vincenzo (born in 1606).

    Because of their illegitimate birth, their father considered the girls unmarriageable, if not posing problems of prohibitively expensive support or dowries, which would have been similar to Galileo’s previous extensive financial problems with two of his sisters.

    Their only worthy alternative was the religious life. Both girls were accepted by the convent of San Matteo in Arcetri and remained there for the rest of their lives.

    Virginia took the name Maria Celeste upon entering the convent. She died on 2 April 1634, and is buried with Galileo at the Basilica of Santa Croce, Florence.

    Livia took the name Sister Arcangela and was ill for most of her life. Vincenzo was later legitimised as the legal heir of Galileo and married Sestilia Bocchineri.
