  • What’s The Definition Of Agency As You Use It?

—“What is the definition of “agency” as the term is used here?”— Daniel Roland As an example, God would have perfect agency, because would have perfect knowledge(omniscience), perfect reason, perfect emotions, perfect mindfulness, perfect ability to act (omnipotence), unlimited resources, and no competition, no need to cooperate, and therefore no need for conventions, laws, institutions, or infrastructure. As humans we have imperfect knowledge, imperfect reason, imperfect mindfulness, imperfect emotions, limited range of actions, limited resources, and we live in a world where we must compete, must cooperate to compete, and to do so require conventions, laws, institutions, and infrastructure. So, Agency consists of the degree to which one approaches perfect ability to act, when not limited by knowledge, reason, emotions, mindfulness, range of action, available instrumentation, available resources, competition, cooperation, conventions, laws, institutions and infrastructure. Given we can never have unlimited knowledge, unlimited resources, and we have limited ability to be free of competition, need for cooperation, conventions, laws, institutions, and infrastructure, we can seek largely to improve our knowledge, reason, mindfulness, and assets so that we maximize our agency within the availble limits. Now, I am not entirely certain that there is much difference between emotions(impulses) and mindfulness(discipline). And so perhaps I should combine the two rather than separate them. And in general when I am speaking of the difference of genders, men have greater agency than women, because frankly “we have less going on” upstairs, in more concentrated form; we are not constantly interrupted by impulses and emotions and worries; and we are in general simply faster and stronger. Nature evolved women for the construction of offspring and us for the persistence of the tribe in which we concentrate our genes. We fight, and by consequence we hunt. They gather and often hunt (really) but largely spend their time on the internal world of the community (tribe) while we spend our time on that intersection between the tribe and competitive reality. Bill, Eli, and I have worked on Agency quite a bit, and Bill has convinced me that Agency should be thought of as an asset we seek to accumulate. He also uses the term “Autonomy” to describe what I understand to be the end result of agency. (I think that is what he means). But I tend to just stick with Agency since I don’t see the difference, and prefer to speak via-negativa.
  • I think that all of us search for mindfulness by the means available to us and t

I think that all of us search for mindfulness by the means available to us and that for some of us that is from analytic to spiritual, and some from spiritual to analytic.

As far as I know mindfulness must facilitate control over our lives, and therefore those of us with control and satisfaction are more incentivized seek analytic mindfulness alone, and those of us that have less control and are less satisfied seek increasingly spiritual forms. That appears to be the causal relationship.

Many people have taken what they needed and moved on. And that is what I expect of people.

Propertarianism is just like any other science. Some of us want to investigate more deeply for its own sake, some of us want to affect change to the world, and some of us want to affect internal change – and as such propertarianism is just a technology to help it.

THE CONSEQUENCE OF MONOPOLY, LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR, SEX AND LACK OF AGENCY

    By Igor Rogov

People without fully developed agency cannot consent to sex, unless the sex is non-reproductive and perfectly safe and also produces no bad feelings on a short or a long run.

Which current law development is aiming toward anyway. Because the law in “all-inclusive society with no borders” has to embrace the lowest common denominator.

Well to the point, there is no age of consent for people with no agency or doubtful/ not fully developed one.

How could it be? Likewise is no consent as such for drunk woman; all sex with her is rape, unless it is done by an eunuch or a lesbian. I perfectly understand the roots of this feminist logic, although the outcomes look bizarre and inhumane.

But if we somehow can pass the exam on our agency and then take control of ourselves, we may say good bye to these roots and weakly proletariat sprouts coming out of them and the ever increasing State authority trying to take care of all this wilted vegetation.

By “we” I mean potentially any human, but in practice – not so many.

For what it is worth, here is some advice from me to young American men – travel. Get out of your comfort zone for starters – it will help you develop and become independent.

Secondly, get away from the toxic environment that includes much of today’s America. Instead, go someplace – and I’d recommend Europe (at least for those of European extraction) because it will force you to reconnect with your origins. It will also force you to question your identity – which, if in anyway influenced by that toxic environment, is probably not a healthy one.

I cannot say first hand the degree to which American women are corrupted – but if they are it is because of the environment they are in – and here’s the thing – that environment isn’t good for you either. Live in a bunch of countries if you can do so without sacrificing too much loss of income.

The personal rewards from the experience will lead to measurable benefits later in life. If you travel in your mid to late twenties it will probably also mean that you find your spouse abroad and i can tell you, having lived now in four countries that the women do not resemble those being described as typical Americans.
