  • The Human Capacity to Create Categories

Feb 9, 2020, 11:20 AM Andrew M Gilmour Try this: The human capacity to create categories by abstraction begins with detachment from, and personification of, the inner (imaginary) and outer(existential) experiences(‘worlds’). Animists develop river spirits and thunder gods using this natural application of human cognitive ability. We also anthropomorphize [enumerate the inner states here] (inner states) that exist across all humans, including Venus[explain the state], Mars, Mercury, etc; love, war, communication etc. [Explain how all emotions are derived from three neurochemicals and our sexual hormones]. As cultures develop they stop projecting on and externalizing (though in some ways they are external) specific events and internal drives. The final step after integrating reason (Thoth, Oghma, etc) is to anthropomorphize the order behind all order; the integrated inner and outer worlds, monotheism. The personification of the order behind all order and chaos. The anthropomorphized personification of the totality of reality; causality itself.

  • Define: Determinism

Feb 11, 2020, 7:49 AM All events, including human action, are ultimately determined by causes external to human thought (will). We categorize this limitation as constraining causality to realism (the universe exists) and naturalism (causes are independent of human thought and human thought has no influence on causality except through action). Some philosophers have taken determinism to imply that individual human beings have no free will and cannot be held morally responsible for their actions. In science, determinism means that the universe demonstrates regularity and therefore we can identify general rules (laws of nature). I don’t pay much attention to philosophy – it’s mostly nonsense. If you can’t say it in testimony: math, logic, science, economics or law then it’s probably nonsense. And yeah. The vocabulary, grammar, and logic of economics includes psychology, sociology, politics, and group strategy.

  • What About Causality in Thought?

    Feb 11, 2020, 8:58 AM

—“What do you call the interplay between human thoughts, if not “causality”?—Ben Quimby

Auto-Association to Free Association to Focused Association. A chaotic (‘idiosyncratic’) accumulation of neural patterns using the grammar of the body (that’s our neural grammar), produces an equally idiosyncratic free associations, that due to thee regularity of the perceivable universe, and the regularity of the grammar of the body, converge within the limits of tolerance for error of the neural network. So just as causal density at the pre-particle level is chaotic within the limits of the grammar of particle formation, so is the causal density chaotic at the pre-rational neuro-associative level within the limits of the grammar of body’s sensory associative formation. Grammars (language) in everything.

  • Be a Man. Get Fit ‘Enough’. That’s All It Takes.

    Feb 11, 2020, 9:28 AM

—“One of many duties that man has under P is that he is a warrior. My advice, hit the range and train MMA. Sharpen your eye, harden the body. My take is that a martial art in it of it self is a pure and physical form a reciprocity. Under P, lying is a serious offense. Step into the gym, the mat never lies. Wrestling as you know was a huge part of Greco-Roman culture. It tests a man’s spirit and his resolve. And you get what you give. The more you sweat, the less you bleed. Stay honed. If your always ready, then you never have to get ready again.”—Torey Eric Anderson

Be a man. Get fit ‘enough’. That’s all it takes. The first 20% of the training gives 80% of the value

  • Avoiding a Disgrace

—“It is a disgrace to grow old through sheer carelessness before seeing what manner of man you may become by developing your bodily strength and beauty to their highest limit.” —Socrates
