Its one thing to know, another to complain, something else to understand, something yet again to solve, and most importantly to act.

Most people stop at complaining. Right now I’m just annoyed. Venting newly acquired frustration.

We are worried about islam? We have already been converted to a new, false religion. We are already dead.

We dont need a rebellion or a reformation.

    We need a RESTORATION.

The people who speak the truth.

Great day. Two profound insights. I am so happy that I understand it all that I almost don’t care if anyone else does. πŸ™‚ But that would be too selfish. Immoral even.

What is left really? I’m going through it. The list. Metaphysics, Truth, Epistemology, Ethics, Economics, Politics, Aesthetics? Is there anything left that I don’t understand yet? I suppose there is always room for improvement. I suppose I can always expand application. So i suppose there really is no end to it. But I at least THINK i’ve completed my attempt to understand how we westerners were vulnerable to pseudoscientific mysticism, why our civilization collapses, how to articulate our history, and how to defend against future assaults on it by empty verbalism masquerading as truth.

I guess there are a few economic problems that I don’t understand. I am not confident yet that the inflation question is controllable, and insurance maintainable under the various MMT schemes. I am not even sure I can solve that myself. Maybe I don’t need to. Maybe just stating it at this point is the best we can do.

I guess, I don’t see anything necessarily wrong with german philosophy other than it’s all a desperate attempt to restore the authority of the church. But while it’s untrue, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily bad in its application. I suppose I should clarify my position on Germany (Sparta) a bit if I’m going to pose this argument as a tale of three cultures.

When I first came to this resort I was pretty frustrated that I couldn’t put these last few bits together, but I managed anyway – even though I felt off kilter most of the time we have been here.

So maybe I need to just ruminate a bit, go through the TOC and see what I still am not comfortable with.

Then I’m sure I”ll find some hole or other. I always seem to. Although I’m a little lost right now as to where to start looking…..

    Humans are really fascinating.

ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT I DIDN”T WANT TO UNDERSTAND

My work has led me to this conclusion:

    1) Humans must acquire – and acquire all sorts of things.

    2) To acquire among others we negotiate.

    3) In negotiation we justify.

    4) We trade signals to to obtain discounts in exchange for status.

    5) Truth (correspondence) about the real world provides a negotiating advantage.

    6) Truth in social matters would disallow discounts obtained in exchange for status (or other opportunity)

I will try to expand that a bit, but it isn’t any more complicated than that.

Some people are much better at justifying than others. (verbal acuity)

Universalism is a form of justification that makes use of cognitive biases: Caldnin’s “weapons of influence” are means by which we justify (steal) in by taking advantage of cognitive biases.

Our genes are selfish, They need to be. And selfish genes win.Truth can be an advantage or a handicap. Justification can be an advantage or a handicap.

If you grasp this then it sort of ruins the whole moral nature of christendom. We are not families. If we treat one another as kin then, some families will be destroyed by other families.

Cooperation on means is mutually beneficial. But, universalism is a deceptive attack on the excellent and true. It is parasitism.

If that doesn’t ruin your philosophical day, then not a lot will.

    (man stuff) (creepy)

Last night, tall, late 50’s, unfit, total lack of shoulder and chest muscle, clearly sedentary, beta male, with a ‘travel companion’ arrives at the hotel, both with uncomfortable body language. He displays nervous but boyish glee, she the professionalism of a salesperson. While just above average by Ukrainian standards, she’s in the upper 10% of western standards.

These women can make 800 a month in usual jobs, or a thousand dollars to two thousand dollars or more a day accompanying some guy on trips. In case that isn’t clear, she can make more money on a two week vacation than she can in a whole year in a regular job.

I mean. I am not against it at all. But the freaking guy made my skin crawl. So my objection is merely empathy for her as a business person. I have spent most of my life in consulting. It’s all too often prostitution – doing what you don’t like, and sometimes what doesn’t need to be done, and once in a while, what shouldn’t be done, for money.

Now I’m one of those people that won’t do what shouldn’t be done – for money or otherwise. But I have done a lot of things I didn’t enjoy doing.

Creepy customers are something to avoid – no matter which profession that you’re in.

    (self assessment)

The rule of thumb of divorce, is that it will take you about a year to get over every four years of marriage. This fall is five years. Seems like it’s worked about right for me. We sort of rebuild our minds sufficiently to forget almost anything every three years, so I bet there is some sort of algorithm in there we could develop and explain in terms of sensory overload. In other words, the more different your circumstance the more quickly you will develop alternate memories to replace the old. On the other hand of you carry it with you you’re associating the past with the present. So there is some sort of polluting going on while you’re forgetting. The mind is fascinating.

To the ashes of my fathers and the temples of my gods,

At the age of 12, sitting in church, I made an oath to god: that should I become wealthy I would build him a church.

I had no idea that while I meant money and a building, he meant a philosophy and a polity.

A pity I do not know his name.

    MAN MUST ACT?

Well, sure, but to act one must PLAN at least one step: envision an alternative and choose it. If that is not the case, one cannot claim to have acted. So action is a two sided coin: we must both plan and act, or acting has no meaning. Man must act, sure, but to act he must perceive and plan (choose) action. Even non sentient beings can react, but only a creature that can forecast the future can ‘act’. Like the golden vs the silver rule, or like liberty and property, both planning and acting are necessary for the consideration of either. As such I don’t find it very useful to rely on the requirement that man MUST act, without also taking into consideration that man must plan in order to act. All plans are theories and all actions are tests. This is an immutable property of reality. It is this relationship between planning (theories) and acting (testing) that leads us all the way to the scientific method, as complexity of that which we seek to act upon exceeds our perceptions. So while action and testimony must be reduced to personal perception, where we are capable of making judgements, we must rely upon empiricism and instrumentalist to reduce that which we cannot sense, perceive, and judge. And we must use operations to test internal consistency and external correspondence where possible. Only if we can reduce operations to the perceptible can we possibly make judgments, and only then can we say we possess the knowledge necessary to levy a truth claim.

(sketch) (model) (computer model of polities)

The literature of psychology and sociology is not just littered, but polluted with the errors of universalism (equality etc). Where it isn’t it’s polluted with socialism or the fallacy of treating non-compliance and conformity as a disease rather than a specialization. So the axis of thought tends to be largely pseudoscientific if not just plain ‘wrong’. You may want to help an individual in terms of diagnoses, but you want to help a culture with an understanding of psychological _supply and demand_.

Pretty sure this is about right. All can be represented as ‘v’ shaped curves I think, or overlapping bell curves

    5) FAMILY STRUCTURE SPECTRUM MATERNAL(COLLECTIVE – socialism) and PATERNAL(INDIVIDUAL – property rights)

    6) MILITARY CRITERIA FOR ‘WINNING’ and GEOGRAPHY/TERRAIN SPECTRUM

That’s a simple model. And I think it’s probably very predictive. I could add geography, and competitors to it and probably produce a wonderful model (simulation) and that would be pretty interesting.

Be fascinating to start out with different data sets and see what survives to some sort of equilibrium.
