How do you maintain low (long) time preference without aristocracy? You must have aristocracy because they will naturally emerge as and evolve an aristocracy with low (long) time preference if lawfulness is preserved vs lawlessness. Without their time preference all polities, and especially democratic polities, will eventually burn capital in favor of consumption, whether by individualism instead of familism, consumerism instead of commons-ism, corruption instead of nationalism. The financialization drove recursive shortening of time preference, and the destruction of civilizational capital. There are many lessons here, but the prohibition on credit expansion in the private sector is the principle means of preventing it, and instead, forcing invsetment in longer time preferences instead of shorter consumer and consumption preferences.

No, I no longer have access to any US intel strategy, knowledge, or staff, and have not for a number of years. I’m stuck with the publicly available information largely through think tanks just like the rest of you – if you even go that far.
The difference is that I still think in those terms – and you very likely don’t. The world is dark and full of terrors so to speak. And peace of mind under pax americana is a comforting illusion just like our parents provided for us so we could sleep in the dark at night.
And I still remain amazed that the vast majority of the public cannot grasp rational incentives of anyone beyond the family and friends, or at best employees and small business. Just as women tend to scale the morals of the family into failure, men tend to scale political morals into failure.
The world works by incentives within the constraints produced by geography, demographics, institutions, resources, economies, and state of development limited by each.
If you’re western you live in an illusion that we are normal. We are not. We are the weirdest least tribal least racist most high trust people in the world. And the rest of the world “Can’t Do Western”. It requires too much genetic advantage, too much genetic ability, too much institutional indoctrination and reinforcement, and too much trust and trustworthiness that others (except for japanese and koreans) can’t do and don’t want to even if they could..
Cheers

Because the USA + Development Capital + insulation from conquest is better for them in every possible way.
There is no guarantee that the USA will remain in NATO once europe is forced to rearm, france asserts its dominance over europe, and french demand for sovereignty over europe and the end of american influence in europe is achieved.
Plus of course we have intel on RU and CN ambitions. Unfortunately the common conception of the world via the Mercator projection is rather archaic, when geostrategically the world is better represented with a polar projection. And the more the ice recedes the more important the polar centrality of military and trade routes emerges.

Which are dependent upon Denmark, its political process, and its funding capacity. And the USA has already taken over from Denmark’s conquest once.
A US territory has full independence, with political, economic, even constitutional freedom but the states has the freedom for full military and strategic investment.
Best of both worlds. No one dares mess with you, you have an endless flow of capital available, and you have freedom to do as you choose.
