Putin uses Muslims for the same reason: they can be exterminated if they cause a problem. So Putin uses Chechens because they love killing Christians. He uses jews because they love extracting rent from Christians. And he uses Russians for everything that simply requires ‘compensation’ or ‘threat’. I understand the Russian sphere pretty thoroughly.

I work with fields of possibilities. And new ones arise and fall. So, it’s not that I’m making a prediction, but identifying an emerging possibility: I’m beginning to think the current Russian government might be dying on a hill named Ukraine. If the attacks on civilians escalate (they will) then the reversal of support in the West will escalate to very serious threats against the Russian leadership instead of their military.
In other words, it would be easy to provide air cover. It would just as easy to tell the russian military command that we don’t want to harm the troops, and we want to stop this war, but they need to find someone less insane to govern, and we will get all of europe to guarrantee russian cultural, political, and territorial integrity. Cau’se honestly, that’s what we all want.
Ukraine and the west can burn down Russia’s entire military and economy by simply continuing to destroy their supply lines and forcing their troops into urban battle. The ukrainians will never give up. I can’t imagine it.

Unfortunately more than a century of presumptions in psychology have been false. Traits (a) disagreeableness at the expense of agreeableness, and (b) systematizing at the expense of empathy, turn out to be as necessary as (c) conscientiousness and (d) intelligence.
The more direct explanation is that no matter your intelligence and conscientiousness if you rely on agreeableness over disagreeableness and empathy over systematizing then you literally “can’t think scientifically”. ie: the vast majority of females and beta males.
THE PROBLEM
Conservative and disagreeable males over-rely on their intuitions, biases, and selection bias in information acquisition. So a stupid disagreeable conservative is worse than a stupid disagreeable leftist.And stupid disagreeable right is the cancer that prevents the right from victory.

I’m having another one of those “I need to give up on the right” days. My ability to tolerate stupid, low information, boisterous, superstitious, sophomoric, ideological, overconfident, lazy, intellectually dishonest males is exhausted. And all efforts are pointless, and rather than continue frustration, I should just leave them to the fate they deserve: extermination.
It doesn’t matter if you’re right about the enemy and wrong about what to do about it, and unwilling to bear the costs of doing it. It just mean’s you’re a biological dead end.
