    The law provides rules for the good to punish the bad. Mindfulness increases the number of good in relation to the bad. Prosperity decreases the incentives of the bad. So norms, laws, and traditions provide incentives such that the good are more numerous than the bad.

    Even some religions try but they one serve to move the crime from simple to more complex. Even some societies try more laws, and more education, but they only serve to move the crime from simple to more complex.

    But genetics are what they are. There is no substitute for hanging every possible criminal at every possible opportunity for a five hundred years, and thereby genetically pacifying a people.

    The law is simply the filter that provides the good people with rules for deciding who to hang. 😉

    We can know the laws of the universe – We can know what is true. And as such, we can know what is false. And while we can know true and false and even bad, this does not tell us what is good.

    But knowing God is impossible since either knowing god is knowing good, or that if knowing god is not knowing good, then god is not a god.

    And this is what struggling to know god means: goods are variable and endless and possibilities infinite, and possibilities that bring individuals closer to god (good) endless.

    Each individual must struggle to know god.

    Regardless of whether your understanding of god’s existence is infinite, as spiritual intuition, or (like me) as information.

    The origin of law is retribution. The origin of written law is standardization of punishment so that retribution does not cause retaliation cycles. The purpose of law evolved to maintain the peace, by standardizing (a weight and measure) responsibilities and liabilities, so that there were fewer harms created, fewer retaliations, and as such prevented retaliation cycles (feuds at small scale, wars at larger scale).

    The european traditional law and our common law evolved over time to increase responsibility from intentional, to failures of due diligence, to failures of defense of others on behalf of others. P-Law explicitly takes this to its full conclusion as inalienability – in other words, if you have a right you are responsible not only for defending it, but defending others, and you cannot divest yourself of either right or obligation without yourself committing a crime.

    Tort just means trespass. This is a simple term referring to the imposition of costs upon the demonstrated interests of others. One of the reasons I’m against the non aggression principle is that under natural law one need only impose a cost by intent, failure of due diligence, failures of defense. Libertarianism is libertinism – not responsible for anything.

    In other words: morality is empirical. It’s Reciprocity within the limits of individual, normative, or universal demands.

    My work is in the field, and consists of:

    1) “A universally commensurable, value neutral, logic, vocabulary, and grammar of metaphysics(ontology), psychology, sociology, ethics, politics, and group evolutionary strategy.”

    2) Testimonial (performative, promissory) truth using that language.

    3) Natural Law Jurisprudence combining the above.

    All human behavior can be described in economic terms. I’m the best in the world at it (really). You can test me with any sample question fairly easily. But it’s a mirror that some of us cannot bear to look into.

    Truth is a harsh judge. 😉

    And I can almost guarantee that no public intellectual in the business of selling ideas to a population will look into that mirror. Because public intellectuals are just merchants like any other producing a product that satisfies the intuitions and impulses of the market.

    Unlike priests, public intellectuals and politicians, a General, a Judge, and a Statesman, have no such luxury of selling snake oil comforts that externalize false promises to subsequent generations, other peoples or other nations.

    Western civilization evolved fastest of all because military epistemology, judicial testimony, adversarial law, and individual sovereignty was pushed down to the lowest levels of society, as bait for status by conformity, resulting in markets in all aspects of life and the most rapid calculation possible for man because it is least divergent from physical natural and evolutionary law.

    If you haven’t evolved your reasoning into the present age with entropy, computability, artificial neural networks economic equilibrium, and evolutionary selection you are in the intellectual dark ages and contributing to the production of a civilizational dark age, and obscuring the fact that man has developed in a rare, brief, period of geological, solar, and galactic peace, on a planet, solar system, galaxy and universe that appears to be all but hostile to advanced life.
