WHAT DO WE VIOLATE?

One can produce property without rights — all living creatures do.
But one cannot produce a right except via contractual exchange.
So then, do property rights have any meaning outside of the context of a state or polity with whom one ostensibly holds a contract?
What is the point of using this term “rights”? Its meaningless except in the context of some contract or other – a contract libertarians would almost always refuse to enter.
You create your property by your own actions. If people try to appropriate you property against your wishes, then that is not a violation of your magical rights – its just an attack against your property. Period.
In fact, the only reason to define morality any differently is to logically excuse parasitism.
Then the only limit to your property is your own parasitism : free riding on others who produce benefits that you consume but that you fail to pay for.
We need no rights whatsoever. We need only recognize property is the result of our actions. Nothing more.
All platonism is false.
We are supposed to be the smart people. We should try to demonstrate it. Libertarian shouldn’t mean “stupid”. Too often it does.

Platonism is forgivable. And its curable. But gullibility? Why are white people so gullible?

Mises and Rothbard were half wrong. For their inspiration they looked to the ghetto: the anarchic state within a state – just as did all jewish intellectuals from that part of the world. The jewish enlightenment not the anglo or continental was where they looked for inspiration. The problem is, you’d need the monarchical state to reconstruct the ghetto. That’s the Crusoe economics: the island is the ghetto, and the ocean is its walls.
For a study of economics it’s adequate. Rothbard doomed our movement though, by looking to ghetto ethics. Effectively rothbard says “we will both give up violence but we will not give up deception.”
It has not occurred to Libertarians, of any stripe, that it’s praxeologically impossible to form a polity with enough trust in one another, and therefore low enough transaction costs, that they will reduce their demand for a third party (the state) and thus grant one another liberty.
It’s impossible because it’s irrational. Non logical.
This is why libertarianism failed. Rothbard does not so much advocate liberty as justify immorality.
There is no peaceful solution to liberty. The source of liberty (property rights), was the exchange of those rights between those men willing to use organized violence to obtain those rights – including the prohibition on violence, deception and free riding. The wealth that resulted from the prohibition on violence, deception and free riding produced status signals that were desirable for others to imitate. Over time, westerners evolved to adopt the prohibition on violence, deception and free riding,
Rothbardian ethics are parasitic because they do not enforce a requirement that individuals produce what they transfer – rothbardian ethics permit and justify parasitism. The NAP is insufficient because it does not prohibit parasitism. Without a prohibition on parasitism, humans will not reduce demand for a state to limit parasitism.

Difficult Choices. The girls are out at the disco. You can feel a little spring in the air. And so it seems like people want to get out of the house. Me included.
Seems like a good night to go sing a little Rolling Stones, and enjoy the city. Also seems like a good night to go to sleep with a glass of Singelton.
I have to start working on modifying Ostrom’s work soon. I should be a good boy. But I feel like a little spring rock-and-roll. 😉

Russians playing the great game, and doing it in public – the western way.
Very interesting.
Russian is a pragmatic language and Russians have pragmatic culture. It’s not really idealistic at all. Maybe the opposite. But as a low trust society it’s been difficult for them to move political discourse into the public sphere.
Westerners of course work by a different ethic: get conflicts out in public so that we can resolve them. And over the past decade you consistently see the Russians moving toward the western model.
The article below lists in honest terms both why Russia cannot tolerate a european Ukraine, and, how to solve it as a collective crisis that positions Russia as the rational actor against, what the rest of the world (rightly) sees as irrational western immoral political behavior.
Now, what I would like to see from the western side, is focusing on using Russia to collapse corruption in Ukraine, and to use Ukraine as a model by which to test how to restructure Russia.
Because these people stilly act like Boyars and Oligarchs: oppressive parasites..
