    JUAN ORTIZ

Not that it matters particularly, and I only know second hand, but apparently Ortiz is up to his theatrics. So it’s worth setting the record straight.

    1) I thought Oritz was just another dysfunctional Aspie. Andy Curzon was investing in him and so I did the same – mostly out of respect for Andy, who wanted to do in London what Roman is doing here in L’viv. Apparently Andy helped Juan come to London.

    2) Ortiz was running out of money and clearly not making good decisions. So I gave him some work to do. The idea being that if he could start with simple work he could participate in something other than illegal-alien construction work.

    3) I pre-paid him 2K USD to do some very simple business analysis filling out a spreadsheet with skills data.

    4) He did next to nothing, but give me excuses for almost two months.

    5) He asked me for more money. and I stated that our experiment had failed and my attempt to help him had originally been a luxury but now I must get the work done professionally.

    6) Someone else here in L’viv did the work in four days – a few hours really.

    7) Ortiz comes out as a critic.

I think “Yet another example of how no good deed goes unpunished.”

I’m a sucker for lost puppies. I know.

http://disq.us/8l3rbkIf we keep even the existing sanctions for another 18 months the Russian economy will fail unrecoverably.

Russia already gave Ukraine the Holodomor (the Stalin holocaust) – and Russians have demonstrated that they are far worse than Nazis ever desired to be.

We do not need Russian brutality, ignorance, superstition, corruption and poverty. We are a gentle people.

The only difference between Ukraine and Canada is that Canada has the States as its neighbor, and Ukraine has the capital of corruption – Russia – as its neighbor.

    PROTECTING THE TRIBE

—“The “authorities” have proven they will not protect private property or civilian lives (Ferguson being just the latest example) while the US Supreme Court has ruled police have no fiduciary duty or obligation to do you/us. The natural state is Hobbes’ Leviathan. A Social Contract must be created and once created it is maintained by the Carrot and Stick. For those that attempt to burn, loot and kill, they must be summarily dispatched either to their Maker or if they are Atheists to the Worm-ridden Compost Pile. I’m not here to judge them on their religion or spirituality just to protect myself, my family, my assets and production. No one questions a Lion, Gorilla or Bull protecting their pride, troop or herd. No one should question a human for doing the same.”—

    WHY WE NEED RELIGIONS

Humans will and must develop a ‘religion’ because without some set of narratives most questions on a daily basis from the most mundane to the most complex are undecidable. Pedagogical requirements force us to resort to narratives during youth in order to construct relations from experiential rather than abstract lessons – we cannot wait to teach morality until reason forms, and not enough ofus are capable of reason: which is why we must have character, rule, and outcome ethics. Because each is more demanding than the prior method. The only question is the externalities produced by that religion and whether that religion is closer to a reflection of heroic history or farther from heroic history. The monotheisms are pretty awful, but democratic statist secular humanism is far worse.

    SO

    1) Many decisions are undecidable without some means of decision making: breaking ties.

    2) Even if they are decidable it is often necessary to force tie-breaking decisions such that they produce positive externalities. In fact, almost all social benefits are obtained by the choice between otherwise indifferent actions.

    3) We must train the young to intuit such tie-breaking decisions, not reason them.

    THREE INSTRUMENTS

    (worth repeating)

We construct three forms of instruments.

    1- Physical Instrumentation (the instruments)

2- Logical Instrumentation (the logics and methods)

    3- Social Instrumentation (institutional)

And of three, the third is most important, since it is the hardest to develop and control, because the incentives of individuals are contrary to the production of instrumental measurements.

    THE LOVE OF HEADY MURDER

–“Stop thinking statists are well intentioned fools who can be persuaded by reason. There isn’t any evidence of it. The evidence is overwhelmingly the opposite. We know libertarians are moral specialists – morally blind to certain parts of the spectrum. And if you’re at least mildly praxeologically inclined it’s obvious that it’s not in the interests of statists, or the bottom third, to support meritocracy instead of expropriating the work of those who are most able and willing. It is no more foolish than exploiting the labor of peasants under agrarianism. So, appeals to reason, to construct a democratic majority, or in favor of systemic pacifism, are either the product of cognitive bias, moral blindness, ignorance of the data, an attempt to obtain liberty at a discount, or all of the above. The only source of liberty that ever could or can be, is the organized application of violence to demand it, by increasing the costs of appropriation beyond the rewards for it. Spilling blood is a beautiful thing. Violence is an art to be admired and practiced. Heady murder a splendid joy to be reveled. It is the brick and mortar of the fortress of liberty.”–
