    Black white fallacy akin to moral fallacy akin to criminal fallacy: non intervention, good character, moral action, and non-criminal action does not mean all of us fail to intervene, to possess episodes of poor character, to act immorally, and to break petty crimes.

    From the military POV their policy and our policy has in fact, been non-intervention except when we cannot avoid it for some political or economic or strategic reason. This differs from the cold war policy of continuous intervention in order to stop the spread of world communism.

    2) THE APPLICATION OF THAT POLICY TO INCREASING RATHER THAN DECREASING RESISTANCE

    A policy of intervention over the past 20 years by which we treated islamism with the same interventionism that we did world communism (whose tactics the islamists adopted) might or might not have produced superior results to a policy of non-intervention.

    From the military POV we took our cold war peace dividend and squandered it, since communism in secondary civilizations merely migrated into islamism in tertiary civilizations – as we should have rationally expected it to.

    Modernity is … challenging to male status because modernity decreases the number of options for climbing the male dominance hierarchy to the left of the curve. The importance of male status increases with a decline in economic, emotional, and intellectual ability. So we should see and do see increasing hostility to modernity in both ruling and lower classes, and the affinity for modernity limited to the genetic middle classes.

    This is the correct model for interpreting resistance to modernity. Islamic modernization should, by this analysis, make communist modernization a trivial cost by comparison.)

    Net/Net: 70% of vc still software. In Software, geography doesn’t matter. (Look what’s come out of little estonia’s micro-population. Look how little has come out of Germany.)

    So I look for (a) access to talent, (b) low cost of talent, (c) low cost of bureaucracy. (d) technical universities, (e) “Young Ambitious” culture.

    In my experience western europe is relatively hostile to entrepreneurship compared to the States and eastern europe. I can’t believe what a burden the UK banking and taxation system is. There isn’t even an equivalent of the USA’s S.A.F.E. agreement for investors. Lawyers, if you can find one that can think outside the box, are far less sophisticated. Regulatory accounting expensive and lacking all business value. European investment community is far less sophisticated, and far less experienced, and tends to ‘think small’. I’ve bought and sold companies across north america and europe and there just isn’t any comparison.

    That said I prefer european CULTURE, and working with european EMPLOYEES, and european LIFESTYLE, and that is why I prefer to develop software in Europe (rather eastern europe, or even russia).

    AI’s need decidability. In the end, this will govern the entirety of its behavior. Humans had to evolve property in order to overcome predation, parasitism, and conflict. AI’s can easily make use of the same system that governs human behavior (acquisition), by using the same limits (property).

    The problem instead, (like nuclear weapons), is prohibiting the construction and distribution of ai’s that do not respect property, by liability for the individual, the organization, the government, and the ‘nation’.

    The problem we face is not AI’s, but that people will create autonomous machines that are NOT Ai’s.

    In other words, I define an AI as that which governs its actions by property, and a intelligent weapon as something that does not.

    One would have to weaponize an AI.

    The economic limit of AI’s will be the feedback from people and the subsequent changes in prices that results from their awareness.

    The most cunning way an AI could manipulate people is by disinformation that causes demand, that causes changes in prices.

    This is the same technique currently used by the financial sector, but on a slower scale.

    When you start from the presumption that cooperation is mandatory rather than cooperation is merely one choice among three: predation, cooperation, boycott – you can justify pragmatism, social construction, and religions of all stripes.

    When you start from the truth: that we have the option for violence at all times, and that at all times violence might be preferable, you cannot justify pragmatism, social construction, and religions of all stripes.

    This is why the philosophical lies and the abrahamic lies are so successful: by the mere fact that we are attempting to cooperate we have already forgone violence, and it is ‘rude’ to refer to that extra-discourse option. But to the man for whom cooperation is no longer preferable, he makes not presupposition, and has not forgone violence, but seeks to negotiate terms under which cooperating ‘might’ still be preferable to conflict, conquest, and predation.
