The reverse interpretation (from someone who has spent years living in Eastern Europe), is that family life, cultural life, civil life in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus is safer, freer, more harmonious, less competitive, and absent class warfare by virtue-signaling vs the states.

Total War: There is a utility in combined debt for military, research and venture capital, combined trade negotiation and regulation to prevent internal parasitism, but disutility in uniformity of production of local commons. Forced integration here as in Europe is a failure.

Total War: the state can, and must, function as a venture capitalist, not just basic research, while maintaining an interest in the new business preventing the financial sector from privatizing public gains. The finance/biz sector must then exploit new opportunities and markets.

Economics of thought. Yes it does work like that. Investing in any given theory (‘spike’) will result in organization applicable to competing theories, almost always resulting in convergence. Therefore pick one and invest in it.
