    There is as great a difference between educated Russians and their deep state as there is between Americans and their deep state. When we criticize each other we must remember how much in common we have. Our governments are exaggerated stereotypes of our worst attributes. But when we work together Russians and Americans have more in common than our European peers. Why? We have a different perception of our governments. A different perception of our responsibilities. A less benevolent assessment of mankind.

    Apparently some people think a local TV channel is misquoting me. Or rather, quoting me in a context that might be misinterpreted.

    In the interview I was discussing the problem of corruption in the judiciary. This video clip was inserted into a news report about the locals who pocketed a few hundred grand buy buying overpriced used trolley cars. The apparent accusation of corruption in this case is that these men are walking around free due to corruption. And for reasons I don’t understand, this is linked somehow to the mayor.

    So for the record, I am an enthusiastic supporter of our mayor here in Lviv. As far as I know he is the best mayor L’viv has ever had.

    I also understand that a mayor can’t know everything. He can only punish abusers of the civic trust. A CEO can’t know everything either. Which is why I understand these things.

    So that said I don’t really see how this is misapplying my words but I’m not a local and I don’t necessarily understand all the implications.

    But all is well as far as I am concerned. 🙂

    So the problem goes back to this: when russia was willing to retake the ottomans, britain stopped them in order to maintain the balance of powers.

    The reset must include an agreement with the russians to restore order to the south, and to retake constantinople. But it must come with the agreement that Koenigsberg and all of ukraine that prefers the west remain.

    If russians will agree to this then it will protect europa from the cancer of the middle easterners. With russia in control we can ‘repatriate’ the invaders.

    Anglos have been wrong about everything since the ‘german divide’. Americans have never been right about anything.
