THE 2010 MACBOOK PRO 17″ BEST LAPTOP EVER

It will go down in history as the Duesenberg of laptops. Very few purchased. But the best laptop ever designed and built.

I will get this think repaired for the rest of my life. Or until someone makes another one.

    STATE BUSINESS ALLIANCES

Forms of subsidy to companies that engage in international trade produces multipliers. The math has been done. That’s why it continues. In fact, throughout history, the state-biz partnership in international trade has been a requirement at worst, and the central source of economic competition at best.

The problem with state-business relations occurs when (a) consumers have no standing in court against violations of reciprocity in the domestic market, and (b) politicians grant rights and privileges in the domestic market (c) when zombie (dead) corporations are kept alive for political reasons.

In the american case, corporations pay the highest taxes in the world. But our total tax rate is relatively low. Most advanced countries ( meaning those with auditable financial systems) use VAT tax increases to offset corporate taxes. But you can easily see where that goes….

Libertarianism benefits from a little knowledge of economics, with a heavy dose of obscurantist moralizing. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. And that is why there are many passionate libertarians, and only a half dozen libertarian ‘intellectuals’. Its because once you possess more than a little knowledge you either choose conservatism (long term and eugenic) or social democracy (short term and dysgenic).

LYING BY INTENT, OR LYING BY LACKING DISCIPLINE AND AGENCY?

FYI: On “Lying” our position is that our genes drive our intuition, and our intuition biases our reason, such that we are constantly negotiating on behalf of our reproductive strategy and are entirely unconscious of it. Therefore we seek to produce ‘agency’ under which we are free of the genes, the intuition(elephant), and that our reason (Rider) is in control. (think of it as a very scientific take on stoicism. So in this sense it is quite easy for people who have not achieved agency (insulation from our genes and intuition) to lie by NOT working sufficiently to possess agency, and therefore remaining an attractor, and distributor of falsehoods (lies). And so just as you must carefully examine your senses to speak honestly, you must carefully develop the skill of truthfulness so that you do not attract and distribute lies and falsehoods. -cheers

BTW: There are really two great crimes in the ancient germanic law: 1) Treason, Military Cowardice and Desertion, and 2) Rape.

You know that well preserved bog man they found? Noose, and throat cut? Treason or Rape (or incest).

It was only after 1000 that we started hanging people in vast numbers.

Why? Restitution is painful. But Death Breeds Retaliation Cycles.

YEP. EVERYTHING ANGLOS DO IS WRONG.

Seriously. whatever anglo civilization intuits is evidence that we should do the opposite. we are good for one thing: punishing, killing people, blowing shit up. we are excellent at the organized application of violence, and completely incompetent at determining who, when, and how. Why? False belief in the nature of man, unnecessary defense of world oil prices.

The answer has been the same: let russians take over the oil industry and rule it with an iron fist.

    we suck at it.

Wall off the the Bosphorus. Close the airports. Close the ports. Let the chinese and russians deal with islam – they understand man and muslims.

    SERIES: “COHERENCE, JUDGEMENT, TRUTH”

    Bill, (All),

I had to think about this overnight, but I think you’ve given me a way to speak about the difference between:

    – internal coherence (decidability in pursuit of preferences)

    – and judgement (decidability in resolution of conflict).

And I am going to have to incorporate the three factors somehow:

    1) competitive utility of personal and cooperative rallying to social opportunity (coherence)

    2) competitive utility of decidability in cross preference conflict (judgement)

    3) competitive utility of physical transformation (truth)

Even if by ‘competitive utility’ i’m referring to the anything between the red queen (evolution-nature outside of present), Time(scarcity in the present), survival, reproductive success, social success, and economic success, and personal fulfillment.

I have had a very hard time finding a way of expressing this and I think between your statement and my understanding of peterson’s ‘literary and platonic’ I think I’m getting closer. And I think these are the three categories in the series of decidability.

    THREE SERIES OF INCREASING PRECISION

    Coherence > Judgement > Truth

    Literature > Law > Science

    Ideation > Decision > Action
