Joscha Bach (@Plinz) is the only other person I know of that understands the fundamental problems of the shift in scientific epistemology. And despite my efforts at reduction into a universally commensurable language, he still manages to do a better job of getting the point… https://twitter.com/Plinz/status/1699395779327295532

Postwar NYC is the product of the dollar. Nothing else. Weaken the central govt, weaken the dollar, end NYC and turn it into another of the many cities whose glory days of trade were behind them.

Why do I feel like a moron for not knowing about Tweetdeck?
This whole being an autistic nerd thing has some advantages but feeling like an idiot once in a while is the price. 😉

We won’t miss you. Usage us up. Community networks developing. Features released. It’s wonderful.
If you can’t build a community of common interest what does that say about you.

Simple comparison of the three economic schools.
1. Austrian school behavioral science under natural law: Observer. Do nothing.
2. Chicago or freshwater school attempt at insurance against volatility: Insurer. Do no harm.
3. NY or saltwater school attempt at manipulation to maximize employment, consumption velocity and growth despite exacerbating cycles: Manager. Try to do good, even if it causes harm, and we’ll fix it later.

All behavior is explicable (all behavior is rational response to incentives) for the actor in the moment. That does not mean it’s optimum over time. So the problem is we can never know enough information to predict behavior without interfering with the behavior. In other words we are informatinoally limited in both economics and physics. This means all science is fundamentally statistical not operational. Which is why ‘math’ has limits.

If you study physics, economics, and neuroscience – at least at the operational rather than biochemical level, you will have a rather complete understanding of the spectrum of models that constitute our observable universe. Knowing the limits of mathematics, computation, simulation, and sets(language) doesn’t hurt either. Because at that point you know the four sciences: physical, behavioral, logical, and the logical outcome of the evolutionary: continuous recursive disambiguation at all scales by the conversion of entropy into stable relations we call persistence.
