October 14th, 2018 3:53 PM [A]ssuming Tesla makes it to 2020 with the Roadster (at $200K) it is going to be VERY difficult to justify buying any other sports car on the market. If they get it down to 120-150k, it will crush Porsche, and dig a hole for Ferrari. I mean, it’s very, very hard to argue with those specs and 650m range. That’s a grand tourer (4 seat) supercar for cheap, with nearly perfect balance. Right now my favorite car on the market are still the aston and jaguar. But it’s really hard to look at this thing and say … well, you know, everything else is a steam powered horse and buggy by comparison.

[R]egarding Russia, my point is not what you think. It’s that Putin flinched over Ukraine and ruined all he had put in play. Had he worked harder at his own anti-corruption, ‘fried’ the oligarchs in Ukraine instead of the military and political structure, and rescued the banks, the Russian sphere would be closer to 200M. Not enough to be a world power, but enough to balance France and Germany. Putin blew his window, and Russian demographics did the rest. And we need a strong Russia. And for a conservative, that was a tragedy.
