It’s not an either/or proposition. We don’t have to choose between either “ethnonationalism for all” or “all groups can transcend of they reduce the size of their underclass”. We can have both. Ethnonationalism for all is the optimum order, and all groups can transcend if they reduce the size of their underclass (and improve their rule as they do so).

And the ‘burn’ is viciously entertaining.
Background: Someone is downloading ch–d p-rn-graphy using Krugman’s ip address (a fairly easy hacker thing to do, and especially if they can get some malicious code on his machine via email.)
3. $1T+ necessary for core state finance of military.
4. Petro-Currency+Reserve Currency needed to finance military needed for Great Power status.
5. Iran can take entire gulf oil supply by Kuwait and Saudis and already have people in the area.
6. Together Iran can achieve both core state of islamic civilization and dominate the region, and obtain Great Power status and heavily influence world affairs.
World cannot tolerate fundamentalist islamic expansionary, militant nuclear iran with control over world oil reserve, and energy prices. Iran is not USA/UK trying to spread rule of law, human rights, science, medicine, tech, commercial prosperity. 10x as bad as China as enemy.
Instead, decimate Iranian military capacity, and economy, pull in competing middle eastern states, and let islamic civilization slowly modernize over generations, and USA can leave. Otherwise another world war and 100’s of millions dead.
This is how grownups see the world.

—“Yeah I will buy this read. Another way to look at it is that it would be irresponsible of the major powers to let radicals who got rich by luck (sitting on oil) have a de facto veto over all world political decisions via nuclear weapons. The ME states never had to fully mature or develop responsible and functional institutions.”—Michael Churchill

—“Being ‘Woke’ is really just sleepwalking through a matrix of imaginary wish fulfillment”— Stefan Molyneux.
Perfect. You know, I can say that in operational prose, but it lacks the poetry and charm. “Imaginary wish fulfillment”. Ouch. https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1214390263633924096
……..80 ybp fall of european empire (beginning of ww2)
I think we start the two semitic dark ages at christianity or islam, and marx or the bolshevik revolution.

Political scientist Samuel Huntington has argued that the defining characteristic of the 21st century will be a clash of civilizations. According to Huntington, conflicts between civilizations will supplant the conflicts between nation-states and ideologies that characterized the 19th and 20th centuries. These views have been strongly challenged by others like Edward Said, Muhammed Asadi and Amartya Sen. Ronald Inglehart and Pippa Norris have argued that the “true clash of civilizations” between the Muslim world and the West is caused by the Muslim rejection of the West’s more liberal sexual values, rather than a difference in political ideology, although they note that this lack of tolerance is likely to lead to an eventual rejection of democracy. In Identity and Violence Sen questions if people should be divided along the lines of a supposed “civilization”, defined by religion and culture only. He argues that this ignores the many others identities that make up people and leads to a focus on differences.
