    (by Bill Joslin )

—“One consideration. With interspecies cooperation, for example, badgers and coyote are hunting groundhogs together, the overall chance of killing game increases for both over the long term. This gives the incentive to tolerate a competitor. The notion of cooperation born of outgroup warfare presupposes an outgroup which is already cooperating.

The distinction between non-cooperative social species (deer, apes, monkeys) and cooperative social species rests with resource gathering.

Non-cooperative social species do not cooperate in resource gathering. Each provides for themselves but do so in a proximity to others. This reduces the chance of death due to predation (run faster than your mate). This fits your above model – defense against outgroup threats.

Cooperative social species work collectively to gather resources with a rudimentary division of labor (Wolves hunting in a pack – rely on each other for survival – a deeper form of cooperation). In these cases pack size increases and decreases in proportion to the success of the pack. Caloric access would stand as a bigger driver.

Familial structure and development of reason may provide some indication as to which applies to humans. Cooperative social species tend to have more developed “mind reading” than non-cooperative, and will seek out help from another. Social structure forms around the family structure as a single unit (mother, father, juvenile offspring, young offspring) oppose to harems.

This suggests to me that human lines were different than current primates in that we may have been predators (cooperative social animals) while they remain predominate scavengers with occasional hunting.

One other which comes to mind is interspecies cooperation, for example, coyotes and badgers hunting ground hogs (badgers are good at digging but not chasing escaped ground hogs – coyotes are better at chasing than digging.) Resource gathering and collective gains over the long run affords an incentive for each to tolerate the proximity of a “competitor” (tolerate each other) to the extent that they cooperate.

There seem to be two different incentive sets which result in cooperation as a survival strategy.

The later (cooperative social species) I think has a direct and stronger incentives to develop cooperative strategies, whereas the former tends to demonstrate looser ingroup bonds (loose half your troop to defection after a lost battle with a competitor).

These differing strategies may have converged in humans.”—

—“Ahhhhh ah ha!. Calorie shortage acted as an incentive for cooperation which outweighed ingroup predation and parasitism. An increase in cooperative innovations occurs. New and improved ways to cooperate overcomes calorie shortage. As calorie shortage diminishes parasitism becomes a more viable option due to an absence of a natural inhibitor! Thus the need for institutional (formal) suppression of parasitism.”—Bill Joslin

    —in response to—

Cooperation boils down to property transfer?

    Via negativa.

It’s more that the violations of cooperation boil down to involuntary transfer of property.

We cannot imagine all the ways we can cooperate.

We can however, catalog all the ways we had found to irritate. 😉

By avoiding the false and bad and ugly we leave room for all varieties of true, good, and beautiful

We have been programming ourselves forever for finding cooperation and rallying cooperation (via positiva). The problem of calorie shortage reinforces the value of that strategy.

But we are not living in an era of calorie shortage where we must IDENTIFY opportunities, and instead, in an era where we CHOOSE FROM plentiful opportunities by eliminating error, bias, wishful thinking, and deceit.

I think this change from rallying to criticism is very important. A very important change in thought.

—“A pattern on the left emerges and repeats itself, that manifests as idealism and ends in nihilism, that starts with a rent-seeking reproductive strategy.

It’s success depends on cooperating with productive classes, but it tends to get full enough of itself to think it can take the helm, before running aground. It has no realistic positive ethic, and now and again refuses to acknowledge natural law. When the left tries to reconcile it’s failure, all it can muster is intellectual nihilism and sometimes literal suicide.

Leftists in America needed labor unions, the place where it’s idealism accomplished something mutually beneficial. It betrayed those union constituents because it got full of its own global cosmopolitan rhetoric. Like the Russians inciting class guilt to incite hate for the kulaks when the proletariat didn’t bring itself round to revolution. Luckily instead of creating famine, this time it created a Trump presidency.”—Steve Lacasse

—“Fallacies do not curtail considerable plutocratic tendencies just because fascistic aristocracies fail to maintain religious hegemony. Hierarchies are only plausible when there is a presence of theocratic organic infrastructure to support the underlying anti-dialogist systems.”—

—“Take everything Curt says with a grain of salt. Better yet, an entire saltlick.”—Eugene Ix

You will need the salt – for eating your straw man.

    I don’t say a mythology wasn’t necessary.

    I didn’t say religion wasn’t necessary.

I said, one consisting of falsehoods isn’t.

    🙂

Hierarchies always exist always and everywhere. The question is which means of rule are used to achieve them. Force is the most expensive but most truthful method of rule. Religion of lies is cheaper than force, but more expensive than markets. So whether we are ruled by some narrative, some law, some market is a matter of demographics, productivity, cost, institutions of cooperation.

Just as people evolved to negotiate not to tell the truth, and we require the scientific method to assist us, Religions evolved to excuse or explain, but it is law that causes behavior.

One can conflate religion and law. One can deconflate them as the west has always done. I recommend we maintain deconflation, and create religion our of founding myths, and our long history of heroes.

In other words: YOU CREATE LIES IF YOU ARE WEAK. AND TRUTH IF YOU ARE STRONG. And you use truth (history, trade, law) if you want wealth. Lies are cheaper if you have ignorant people at the cost of impoverishing them. Small numbers that wish to rule, require advanced technology and professional warriors.

Hierarchies always exist everywhere and every-‘when’. All that differs is the manner in which we excuse them so that the classes can operate cooperatively. But the lesson of history is simple: truth out-competes lies. Everyone who adopted reason (truth) benefitted from it. greeks->romans->muslims->northern europeans -> much of the world today.

But each civilization fails to preserve truth because (a) they don’t know how to do otherwise, and (b)they have no institutional method of preserving it sufficiently to prevent re-institution of lies for the purpose of parasitism.

Ergo, Natural Law Fundamentalism. Heroic Literary myths.

    Or to put it in terms of the western group evolutionary strategy;

Sovereignty(negative or limit). Heroism(positive or opportunity).

—“Goldwater, Reagan, and conservatives delivered the US into socialism?”—

It’s more that While Darwin, Spencer, Weber and Durkheim were correct in their reevaluation of man, Mises, Popper, Hayek, Brouwer, Bridgman and many others failed to solve the question of social science, and social pseudoscience of Marx and Keynes was more attractive to enfranchised women, underclasses, and empowering of the political classes.

Moreover, the scientists having failed, we got Goldwater, Kirk, Buckley, Kristol, and Strauss – whose work can be considered, at best pop-moralizing on the german continental model: attempting to recreate the piety of the church in secular verse.

And they failed. Their work cannot even be considered pseudoscience. Certainly Strauss can be considered pseudo-rationalism. But Kirk, Buckley and Kristol’s very existence as influencers is an admission of failure of the conservative movement to produce a technological equivalent of leftism.

And why? Because the truth is incompatible with democracy: The function of western civilization was systematically eugenic. We are very conscious of truth. Our preoccupation with Truth is the reason for our civilizatin’s rapid advancement in the ancient and modern worlds. But the application of truth produces eugenic outcomes. Which is why the left must lie, and the right cannot tell the truth.

—“An ideology functions, like literature, to inspire individuals to action under democracy. A philosophy provides methods of decidability in order to achieve a desired state of affairs. A formal logic provides language for the testing (criticism) of relations for internal consistency (falsification). A science provides a formal process and instrumentation for the elimination of ignorance, error, bias, and deceit.”— Curt Doolittle, The Propertarian Institute, Kiev, Ukraine.

    http://www.ancient-origins.net/news-evolution-human-origins/scientists-are-alarmed-shrinking-human-brain-001446

Given that (a) yes, brain size makes a demonstrable difference in current human intelligence.

And given that (b) it’s unclear whether our brains are getting smaller or whether more of the smaller humans are breeding in cities. (which appears to be the case since cities are genetic and IQ sinks).

And given that (c) we have been selecting for immaturity for 10K years (paedomorphic selection).

And given that (d) women generally possess superior verbal skills and weaker modeling skills despite smaller brains.

I would hypothesize that all of the above are driving down AVERAGE brain size.

I would suggest we will saw additional paedomorphic selection domestication up and until the period of ‘Peak Human’ which I suspect was around 1500 bc.

And that at present we are seeing a rapid expansion of dysgenic classes, tilting the data dramatically.

Unfortunately I suspect that the initial shift caused by the adoption of general rules (science) rather than rules of specific cases (recipes), as well as the reduction in the malnutrition at the bottom (left) of the curve, means that the downward shift in genetic IQ and brain size from underclass reproduction is being hidden by the Flynn effect. But in real terms, on average we are getting smaller, more verbal brains, and a lot more dumb people breeding.

As soon as Obama was elected there was this wonderful benefit of black men feeling that they’d arrived. And I sensed all this amazing reduction of stress. I remember getting in elevators with black men and that ‘thing’ wasn’t there. It was sort of gone. It was awesome.

But then he had to go and screw it up. Instead of governing cautiously and wisely he pulled off the obamacare scandal, and then played the anti-white-civilization card all day long. And look at where we are now. dammit.

Yeah, I like living in a neighborhood with ‘my people’ watching my tribe regenerate every generation. But I got nothin’ but love for people who do the same in their neighborhoods.

The market doesn’t care what color we are. The government, by saying we are all the same even outside the market, has made us care.

And when we avoid integration into the anglo saxon model of contractualism, high trust, nuclear family, common language, common religion, common holidays and common mythology, we force us into either conflict or castes.

And it sucks. We had it right under monarchy. We had quarters to live in, and a common law outside of them, and without access to political power the market was our only power.

    Democracy is a cancer.
