    DERBYSHIRE ON QUALIFICATION (COMPARABILITY)

—“When attempting to quantify human activities for evaluation on a larger scale, there’s a certain fullness of the experience that will be lost..(the immaterial emotional bonds involved in a relationship, for instance). That doesn’t mean that the party engaging in the quantification doesn’t acknowledge the discarded aspects, but rather that they aren’t necessary to forming a model of the general experience to be applied on scales larger than the individual level. The emotional aspect is present in most relationships, but it is subjective in that no two pairings can share exactly identical immaterial bonds, though there are material (measurable) bonds that exist which can be evaluated more objectively.”—John Derbyshire

–“Generally speaking, Roman Citizens were not sentenced to capital punishment if they murdered another Roman Citizen of equal status, but were more often fined or exiled, and if they were executed they were beheaded, which was regarded as a more honourable way to die. If a Roman Citizen killed a slave or any person of lesser status then there was no punishment at all. Protecting the status and position of the Roman Citizens was considered to be a paramount concern and to be stripped of that status was one of the worst punishments imaginable, especially as then you could be subjected to one of the more inventive methods of Roman execution. So public executions were generally events put on to execute slaves who had run away, prisoners of war, common criminals and army deserters, and were regarded as great spectacles and a form or entertainment. The early Christians were also often publicly executed because of their refusal to worship or make sacrifices to the Roman gods or the Emperor. There were special areas set aside in Roman towns for public executions, usually outside the town gates, and also in the same arena where the gladiatorial games took place.”—

–“I believe in god(s), just not the Christian one – I think the gods are amused at our hardship and suffering, they laugh heartily at all our misfortunes. But once in a while – very rarely – they are impressed by the few who overcome themselves and create something great.”–Freyr Björnsson

    by Steve Pender

Hypothetically, an entire war could be fought in Europe, Muslims vs Europeans, by using only 1 individual Muslim at any given time. 1 after another after another. Each a completely unique, individual who happens to be muslim and whose cohorts are supported 100% from backlash by the media with quotes like, “Islamophobic, xenophobic fascist racists may try to tie together 1,473 terrorist attacks in the last 3 days to divide us, but we are united in diversity and global togetherness.”

    RANGE OF GOVERNMENT

    by Joel Davis

Overton’s window boils down to Meritocracy vs. Egalitarianism.

Right Meritocracy (Aristocracy/Fascism) vs. Left Meritocracy (Jeffersonian Classical Liberalism) would be a highly functional system of government.

The left in times of peace and expansion, the right in times of war and hardship.

That’s what you’ll get when you limit the demos to property owning militia members.
