    by Seonaidh MacGobhain

    In 14 Years (2000-2014) Alberta sent $200 Billion to the Federal Government.

    In 57 years (1957 to 2014) Alberta only got$92 million

    back. And the rest of Canada has the nerve to badmouth Alberta. Now what’s wrong with that picture?

    (NOTE – THAT IS BILLION VS MILLION ABOVE!!!!!!)

    • As part of a four month investigation, the Financial Post has identified as many as 35 Canadian projects, worth $129 Billion, that have been stalled or cancelled because of opposition due to environmental, aboriginal and or community groups. If these projects went ahead they would create hundreds of thousands of manufacturing and construction jobs while being built and tens of thousands of full time operational jobs when the projects were commissioned.

    • A recently released third quarter (2016) National Accounts Report shows that all sectors of the Canadian economy are now net borrowers.

    Net borrowing for Corporations reached an annual rate of $19.7 Billion.

    Households totaled $30.5 Billion ; and

    The total of all governments 2016 annual deficits total $37.6 Billion.

    • Total accumulated debt by theFederal Government currently stands at $634.4 Billion.

    Total Federal and all Provincial Debt stands at $1,294.7 Trillion (Note that Municipal debt is not included in the $1.294 Trillion debt).

    • Included in the above totals, accumulated debt in Ontario stands at $313.9 Billion. Quebec is $180.1 Billion. Ontario has the highest per capita debt of all provinces at $22,449.00. We used to believe that Quebec did not have their finances under control. Their per capita debt is less than Ontario’s.

    • Manitoba’s total provincial debt is $22.6 Billion. This does not include the $17 Billion debt owed by Manitoba Hydro which is backed by the Manitoba Government. If Manitoba Hydro’s debt was included in the provincial debt, Manitoban’s would have the highest per capita debt.

    • Net Federal debt is expected to increase $107 Billion in the next 4 years. Total Federal Government interest costs since 1990 equal $950 Billion.

    The Federal debt increases at a rate of: $ 87 Million per day or $ 60,460.00per minute or $ 1,008.00per second.

    • Business Investment in Canada has fallen for an eighth straight quarter. Even with the favourable Canadian exchange rate, exports are below their level of a year earlier. The manufacturing sector , particularly in Ontario is struggling with energy cost differentials, rising non-tariff barriers, uncertainty about the status of trade agreements and complex approval processes. Policy makers are just starting to realize that government stimulus spending is not working and more of the same won’t help.

    • Voters in our last federal election, who embraced the tax the rich message by the current federal government, should know that of the $126 Billion in federal tax collected, $26.2 Billion was collected from 1.4% of the high income earners.Even if the tax for this group doubles it will not pay for next year’s federal deficit forecast at $27.8 Billion.

    • Top marginal tax rates for Canadian provinces is as follows:

    Nova Scotia- 54%,

    Ontario- 53.5%,

    QuebecandNew Brunswick- 53.3 %,

    P.E.I.- 51.37%,

    Manitoba- 50.4%,

    Newfoundland- 49.8%,

    British Columbia- 47.7% ,

    Alberta and Saskatchewan- 48% (note that in 2014 Alberta’s was 39%).

    Of course these rates do not include GST, PST, Carbon Taxes or Property Taxes.

    • The Equalization Programstarted in Canada in1957. The following are theLifetime Paymentsto each province:

    Quebec = $198 Billion(50.5%),

    Manitoba = $46 Billion(11.7%),

    Nova Scotia = $44 Billion(11.1%),

    New Brunswick = $43 Billion(10.9%),

    Newfoundland & Labrador = $25 Billion(6.4%),

    Ontario = $17 Billion(4.2%),

    P.E.I. = $ 9 Billion(2.4%),

    Saskatchewan = $8 Billion(2.1%),

    British Columbia = $3 Billion(0.6%),

    Alberta = $ 92 *Million*(0.0%).* This is not a typing error!*

    • Canadian Oil Sands Producers export 3.4 million barrels of oil per day to the USA. The USA is their only customer and the USA discounts this oil by $15.40 (US$) per barrel based on the differential between the West Texas Intermediate benchmark price and Western Canada Select price. The total annual discount is $18.6 Billion (US$) lost to the Canadian economy with the benefit going to the USA. This discount may go as high as $20.00 per barrel but would disappear if either the Energy East Pipeline or Northern Gateway pipeline were built and Canadian oil was transported to tidewater. No wonder Donald Trump wants to approve the Keystone pipeline on his first day in office. And Ontario and Quebec import their oil from Venezuela and Saudi Arabia and of course pay full price.

    • Between the years 2000 to 2014Alberta’s individual and corporate taxpayers sent $200 Billion to the Federal Government on a“net basis“.Net basis meaning:what money left that province, less what the Fed`s reinvested in that province.For several years the annual contribution was as much as $20 Billion.No other province, including Ontario with 3 times the population, even comes close to matching this province`s contribution. Remarkably few Canadians seem to be aware of this, even in the vaguest sense!

    • Our Federal Government is in the process of conducting an Inquiry Into Murdered And Missing Indigenous Women. Saskatchewan’s Premier Brad Wall recently noted that there have been 29 studies and reports on aboriginal issues since 1996, which have produced hundreds of recommendations. The 1996 Royal Commission On Aboriginal Peoples alone cost $50 Million and presented 444 recommendations, almost all of which were ignored by the Chretien Liberal Government. Maybe we should have an National Inquiry to look into why all these earlier inquiries and studies failed.

    • Some RCMP facts : 6,420 missing persons in Canada – 1,455 are women – 164 are aboriginal. Between 1980 and 2012 there were 20,313 murders in Canada – 6,551 were women and of those 1,017 were aboriginal women. 88% of the aboriginal women murders have been solved – 89% of non-aboriginal women have been solved. 83% of aboriginal women were killed by a husband, family member or acquaintance and 71% of those murderers already had a record, 53% of those had been convicted of a violent crime before and 62% had a history of violence with the specific murder victim herself.

    • 90% of all Canadian Public Sector workers have employer provided pension plans compared to 24% in the private sector. Moreover 94% of these public sector pensions are “defined benefit” meaning retirees get a set amount after they leave their jobs (typically 70 to 75% of their working salary) whether or not there is enough money in the pension fund. Any shortfall is made up by the taxpayers for years and years after these civil servants retire. Many of them collect pensions longer than they worked.

    • It used to be that public servants made less money than their private sector counterparts. Not anymore. According to a recently released study by the Fraser Institute public servants now earn on average 11% moresalary than their counterparts in the private sector. Compared to the private sector, civil servants enjoy longer vacations, take more non vacation days off ( 13 days vs 8) , retire on average 2.3 years earlier, enjoy superior pension benefits and more job security. According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business when all compensationis taken into account and divided by the hours worked , federal government workers made 40% morethan their private sector counterparts , provincial government workers made 35% more and municipal government workers made nearly 30% more. There are 3.7 million public sector workers in Canada. The only way to get this under control is to privatize more services.

    • Global Oil Consumption over the past few years is as follows:

    2011= 88.6 Million Barrels Per Day(MBD),

    2012= 89.8 MBD,

    2013= 90.7 MBD,

    2014= 92.6 MBD,

    2015= 94 MBD,

    2016= 95.4 MBD and

    2017= expected to be 97 Million Barrels Per Day.

    As much as the Environmental Activists pontificate that the world is transitioning off fossil fuels this upward trend in oil consumption will continue for years to come. Despite the many governments (in Europe, Canada and the USA) spending hundreds of billions of dollars on green energy initiatives over the past 10 years, sufficient technology does not exist and is still not even close to providing the energy to meet the industrialized world’s needs.

  • YES THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN INTELLIGENCE – THATS SETTLED. BUT WHAT DO WE DO ABO

    YES THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN INTELLIGENCE – THATS SETTLED. BUT WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT IT?

    by Jaques Janson, IQ186 – existential depression

    Science has shown that the assertion is indeed correct. There simply is no debunking evidence that I could find and although the conclusions remain unpopular for obvious reasons, I can find no fault in the logic or science.

    I quote:-

    A 60-page review of the scientific evidence, some based on state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of brain size, has concluded that race differences in average IQ are largely genetic.

    The lead article in the June 2005 issue of Psychology, Public Policy and Law, a journal of the American Psychological Association, examined 10 categories of research evidence from around the world to contrast “a hereditarian model (50% genetic-50% cultural) and a culture-only model (0% genetic-100% cultural).”

    The paper, “Thirty Years of Research on Race Differences in Cognitive Ability,” by J. Philippe Rushton of the University of Western Ontario and Arthur R. Jensen of the University of California at Berkeley, appeared with a positive commentary by Linda Gottfredson of the University of Delaware, three critical ones (by Robert Sternberg of Yale University, Richard Nisbett of the University of Michigan, and Lisa Suzuki & Joshua Aronson of New York University), and the authors’ reply.

    “Neither the existence nor the size of race differences in IQ are a matter of dispute, only their cause,” write the authors. The Black-White difference has been found consistently from the time of the massive World War I Army testing of 90 years ago to a massive study of over 6 million corporate, military, and higher-education test-takers in 2001.

    “Race differences show up by 3 years of age, even after matching on maternal education and other variables,” said Rushton. “Therefore they cannot be due to poor education since this has not yet begun to exert an effect. That’s why Jensen and I looked at the genetic hypothesis in detail. We examined 10 categories of evidence.”

    The Worldwide Pattern of IQ Scores. East Asians average higher on IQ tests than Whites, both in the U. S. and in Asia, even though IQ tests were developed for use in the Euro-American culture. Around the world, the average IQ for East Asians centers around 106; for Whites, about 100; and for Blacks about 85 in the U.S. and 70 in sub-Saharan Africa.

    Race Differences are Most Pronounced on Tests that Best Measure the General Intelligence Factor (g). Black-White differences, for example, are larger on the Backward Digit Span test than on the less g loaded Forward Digit Span test.

    The Gene-Environment Architecture of IQ is the Same in all Races, and Race Differences are Most Pronounced on More Heritable Abilities. Studies of Black, White, and East Asian twins, for example, show the heritability of IQ is 50% or higher in all races.

    Brain Size Differences. Studies using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) find a correlation of brain size with IQ of about 0.40. Larger brains contain more neurons and synapses and process information faster. Race differences in brain size are present at birth. By adulthood, East Asians average 1 cubic inch more cranial capacity than Whites who average 5 cubic inches more than Blacks.

    Trans-Racial Adoption Studies. Race differences in IQ remain following adoption by White middle class parents. East Asians grow to average higher IQs than Whites while Blacks score lower. The Minnesota Trans-Racial Adoption Study followed children to age 17 and found race differences were even greater than at age 7: White children, 106; Mixed-Race children, 99; and Black children, 89.

    Racial Admixture Studies. Black children with lighter skin, for example, average higher IQ scores. In South Africa, the IQ of the mixed-race “Colored” population averages 85, intermediate to the African 70 and White 100.

    IQ Scores of Blacks and Whites Regress toward the Averages of Their Race. Parents pass on only some exceptional genes to offspring so parents with very high IQs tend to have more average children. Black and White children with parents of IQ 115 move to different averages–Blacks toward 85 and Whites to 100.

    Race Differences in Other “Life-History” Traits. East Asians and Blacks consistently fall at two ends of a continuum with Whites intermediate on 60 measures of maturation, personality, reproduction, and social organization. For example, Black children sit, crawl, walk, and put on their clothes earlier than Whites or East Asians.

    Race Differences and the Out-of-Africa theory of Human Origins. East Asian-White-Black differences fit the theory that modern humans arose in Africa about 100,000 years ago and expanded northward. During prolonged winters there was evolutionary selection for higher IQ created by problems of raising children, gathering and storing food, gaining shelter, and making clothes.

    Do Culture-Only Theories Explain the Data? Culture-only theories do not explain the highly consistent pattern of race differences in IQ, especially the East Asian data. No interventions such as ending segregation, introducing school busing, or “Head Start” programs have reduced the gaps as culture-only theory would predict.

    Race differences in average IQ are largely genetic

    https://www.quora.com/Will-the-meeting-between-Putin-and-Trump-actually-accomplish-anything/answer/Curt-Doolittle?share=0abbd1cd&srid=u4Qv**(The correct answer for the many well intentioned f—-ls)**

    Trump always and everywhere **negotiates**. Great negotiators are not afraid of opponents, they are thrilled by the competition. Trump is a ruthless negotiator who has made an industry out of baiting opponents, entrapping them, and then controlling them. He creates opportunity for greedy people to act greedy, traps them and the exploits them for their greediness. This is why the bankruptcies are merely a tactic he uses to entrap greedy people, and corrupt bureaucrats. Where the ignorant person sees failure, the sophisticated person sees strategy.

    Trump is a competitor in the Nietzschean mold. He sees a meeting with Putin as an opportunity to learn how to win just as he sees a meeting with Kim as an opportunity to learn how to win. The worst that happens is that nothing happens. The best that happens is that he finds (as did Regan) an opportunity. He does not care about ‘face’ or your approval. He only cares about opportunities to win.

    Putin is terribly rational and very simple: russians never want to repeat the 1990’s and they respect strength. He saved them from chaos and has given them self respect back. All his stunts that cause us to react are just image building. We are just a tool for him to show his people he is strong. Just as we are just a tool for Kim to demand cash when he is bankrupt. Putin is actually very weak because he is under the control of his dependence upon the export of petroleum. The difference is that Kim can starve his people and retain power, and Putin can’t. Stalin would have starved them. Putin isn’t that strong.

    Trump’s point of view, and it is not false, is that Americans are weak negotiators trying to win friends and make their jobs easy at the expense of the middle american work force. His opinion (and he’s right) is that china is rising to replace us by stealing our technology and undermining our markets. It does not take skill to negotiate an agreement that is favorable to your opponents.

    How do I know this. I do exactly the same thing. Why? Because Kings, Generals, and Entrepreneurs, unlike corporate heads, bureaucrats, and politicians have a constituency of one. Themselves. Some people go public to make a windfall. some of us stay private so that we remain our masters. Trump stays private to remain his own master. The only place a man can still be king is in commerce.

    Very few people in contemporary life actually participate in the market economy at personal financial risk. Kings, Generals, Investors, and Entrepreneurs of every scale, do it every day.

    Trump acts like a king, general, and entrepreneur because he has always been an entrepreneur, and he was trained in a military school.

    He’s not looking for your approval. He’s just always testing himself to see if he can out compete. Because that is the only test that the Nietzschean man cares about: the test of the markets.Updated Mar 21, 2018, 10:13 PM

    WHY DID THE SOVIET UNION COLLAPSE (ECONOMICS)

    by Dima Vorobiev, “I worked for Soviet propaganda”

    Answered Aug 26, 2017

    The Soviet Union went bankrupt.

    By 1991, it could no longer maintain the normal functioning of its civil economy (read: feeding and sheltering people) and run its enormous military-industrial complex at the same time. The Kremlin had to choose, for the first time since WWII.

    Lenin and Stalin would have chosen the military. Population would have started to revolt, and they would have quieted it all down by an epic blood-letting and strangulation. The North Korean Kims did that in the 1990s, and it worked.

    Gorbachev and Co didn’t feel like murdering people. They pulled the plug on the military. Gorbachev got a Nobel prize for that from humanity, and an undying hate from the entire Russian nation (with the exception of some scum like myself) for all posterity.

    The military-industrial complex (a good half of the economy, or more) ground to a halt, entire cities in provinces shut down, troops went hungry, and it rippled throughout the whole country to Moscow.

    Then the BIG thing happened, the one you know from history books.

    The USSR was a Communist empire that consisted of several ethnic republics. When money stopped coming from Moscow, and the fearsome Soviet machine of suppression and control ran dry for fuel, the ethnic elites didn’t see any reason to subjugate themselves to Moscow.

    The fifteen republics went every which way. The USSR project was finished.

    https://www.quora.com/Are-digital-states-real-Do-they-enjoy-any-sovereignty-like-real-countries-Where-does-the-European-Union-GDPR-come-in/answer/Curt-Doolittle?share=1cfafa15&srid=u4QvIt is very hard for people raised in the current era of cultural, political, legal, and economic pseudoscience, to grasp the very simple reality that all forms of property from your body and mind, to your children and mates, to your home and assets, to your political rights, to your country’s territory, and all the patterns of behavior that you count on and benefit from every day, exist because of violence, and violence alone.

    **Violence and violence alone** determines control of yourself, your relations, and anything and everything else. All our organizations and institutions are but proxies for that violence. And only those capable of applying violence to preserve the order are ever in control of that order. And it takes very few people willing to use violence to end that order and replace it with another.

    So, a State exists as a State for two very simple reasons: some group of people possesses sufficient violence to prevent other people from having it. And other states prefer those people control that State rather than an alternative group of people.

    That’s it. In other words, States preserve other States – usually out of self interest: the preservation of the balance of powers in the region. During the agrarian era of the past, and during the current era where oil regions are so enabling of primitive peoples, we see Iraq->Kuwait and Iran->Syria, and Russia->Crimea (Black Sea deposits) ,and China->South China Sea.

    The same goes for digital anything: digital states, digital title registries, digital currency. They exist only so long as the states in which the servers exist, the people who manage them, the means of transforming the digital to the material, the people who use them, allow them to exist.

    I’ve written about this for years, but my understanding of history tells me that the digital currency experiment is merely performing private funding of research and development for the next era of state credit when the current postwar order deterministically fails.

    There is no escape from violence, or paying the cost of violence, in the form of the organization of violence, we call the State.Updated Mar 20, 2018, 9:53 PM
