    (from taleb via @[1102637653:2048:Moritz Bierling])

The idea is to find simple but effective words to counter accusatory propaganda, without having to spent time explaining a point; rather turning the tables by becoming the accuser.

    BIGOTEERING (big-oh-teer’-ing

    ——————————-

Bigoteering: Originates with Tim Ferris, describes tagging someone (or someone’s opinions) as “racist”, “chauvinist” or something-like-it-ist in situations where these are not warranted.

This is a shoddy manipulation to exploit the stigmas accompanying such labels and force the opponent to spent time and energy explaining “why he/she is not a bigot”.

Example: Both the Kurds who are asking for independence and the Arabs who refuse to grant it accuse one another of “racism”.

    NABOTHIZING (nah’-bauth-eye-zing)

    ————————————

Nabothizing: Production of false accusation, just as Jezebel did to dispossess Naboth.

In many legal systems calumnies and false accusation is punished as if the accuser committed the infraction itself.

In combination with bigoteering: such a false accusation of bigotry, particularly if the accuser knows it is not the case, should cause a penalty to the bigoteer as if he/she were bigots.

Note that it was the original meaning of the Greek word sycophant before drifting in the English language.

    PEDOPHRASTY (ped’-oh-frast-ee)

    ———————————-

Pedophrasty : Sensationalism involving children, particularly in pictures, to prop up an argument and make the opponent look like an asshole, as people are defenseless and suspend all skepticism in front of suffering children: nobody has the heart to question the authenticity or source of the reporting.

Can also describe the exploitation of babies by beggars who rent them from their parents.

    PARTIALIZING (par’-shull-eye-zing)

    ———————————–

Partializing [TEMPORARY LABEL]: Exploiting the unsavory attributes of one party in a conflict without revealing those of the other party . Example: “He is a dictator”.

The problem can take absurd proportions: in the Syrian War, was used by interventionistas describing the “dictator” without mentioning that his opponents are Al-Qaeda head-cutters.

    by Chris Moyer

According to the average Classical Liberal, Libertarian, and Ancap, Individualism is an axiomatic good.

But, it’s just another false dichotomy similar to that of capitalism versus socialism – except in this case it is individualism versus collectivism.

They remove all measurements of arbitrariness from these categories and end up scrambling to justify their position on the spectrum.

So just as these people claim the West was Capitalistic despite it being a mixed economy (rule of law by necessity), they make the same mistake and claim the West is individualistic despite it being mixed between Collectivism and Individualism.

***It’s really just non-arbitrary prioritization of rights.***

I think it’s safe to say that we know the benefits and downfalls to both individualism and collectivism and to continue holding a view based on that false dichotomy is embarrassing.

CD: Ok, so lets repeat that ” A non-arbitrary prioritization of rights. “

—-”there exists a triangular equivalence in theory of computation between fields. We have philosophy that gives us intuitionistic logic. We have mathematics that gives us category theory. Then in computer science we have type theory”—-

The scope of content in those few sentences is priceless. I’m trying to think of how I can deflate it into operational (scientific) language. (ie: Whenever you use the word ‘is’ – the verb-to-be in any of its forms – you don’t understand the causal relations.)

    a) constant relations (intuition)

    b) positional relations. (categories)

    c) dimensional relations. (types)

    d) symmetric relations (symmetries, externalities, consequences) (models)

    e) and then repeat at the next level of hierarchy.

All we are ever discussing is constant relations in some number of dimensions until we produce new identities (a) that we can define relations between (b) so that we can construct descriptions (c) so that we can model outcomes (d).

“Constant relations all the way down’.

    by Colin Higgins

Obviously, Trump is attempting to negotiate from a position of strength, and I think he has established it, despite the fact that I would have gone about it differently.

The real issue here is not Syria, but Iran. Putin wants a permanent foothold in that country, and a naval base in the Strait of Hormuz, which is going to be tough to achieve. By convincing Iran that they need “Russian Protection” against the US, he hopes to get that.

But it didn’t work. Last night missiles were launched at three sites in Syria, and Russia didn’t do a thing–in fact, they ran away by pulling their ships out of port, and their troops out of the field. Putin blinked, and Iran saw it.

The next step for the US would be to pull Iran away from Russian influence by normalizing relations and easing sanctions. That should be the #1 goal in the ME, but Israel is fighting it. The Zionists are playing their own game, and that involves deliberately destabilizing the region, arming rebels, and trying to overthrow Assad.
