    (a) we cannot agree on the supernatural (b) because only 20-25% of the population once educated are capable of suspension of disbelief (c) religiosity depends on both indoctrination and bias in favor of trait empathizing and or survival from low status (soft constant trauma) or hard trauma.

if Religion isn’t to continuously be marginalized, the only solution is a religion that is not rejected by 75% to 80% of the population.

So the problem is inventing that religion.

And all religions are Evolutions of the prior.

The only thing that kept BTC from going to zero was institutional investors seeking to preserve the opportunity. That’s all. Otherwise it would have gone, as expected to under 10k. My argument is that their support was unexpected. And that if they have confidence in it then it might survive as an investment vehicle. But if the ‘problems’ of btc are solved, (i don’t think they can be) given the compute cost and the performance, and it became a viable liquid currency, the state would stop it as a competitor.

You are profoundly mistaken. Power – the capacity to alter the probability of outcomes – is and always will be, a resource produced by the laborers and given to their leaders to organize and apply it on their behalf. Only then can the leader apply that power to the capture of institutions with which to exercise that power.

And no I don’t err. Sorry. Doesn’t happen in general. Absolutely doesn’t in this case.

Because (a) they perceive self control as a form of deception or ‘inauthenticity’ thus they can’t trust you (b) they are less able to manipulate you or influence you, (c) they are less able to develop consensus with you, thus ‘othering’ you as the enemy. —“We can make a political compass based upon what you’re willing to be responsible for.”— @NoahRevoy

Ends up as a triangle again, with Jon Haidt’s Moral Foundations expressed as property rights. While I translated haidt into property rights, I didn’t think of translating those property rights to responsibilities – and then responsibilities to sex differences in cognition and valuation.

It’s not like I don’t have enough work to do today already. 😉

    |Causality|: Sex differences > division of time/space > responsibility > property rights > moral bias > political bias = all human differences originate in sex differences.

  • “Is belief in the truth fundamentally predicated upon God?”– @Whatifalthist THE

–“Is belief in the truth fundamentally predicated upon God?”– @Whatifalthist

    THE CORRECT ANSWER:
    1) The term ‘truth’ refers to testimony – it can only refer to testimony. And testimony sufficient for the provision of decidability. And as such, decidability sufficient for the marginal difference in the production of desired outcomes and the reduction of failure or harms in the context in question. Ideal truth refers to that testimony we would give if possessed of perfect and complete knowledge of the context in question. (All truth and therefore decidability consist of a competition between supply of information vs demand to avoid risk).

    2) All people need a means of disambiguating, categorizing, and evaluating the universe sufficient for successful understanding, prediction, choice, and action – and that demand increases as the population, division of labor, class structure emerges, and diversity from travel and trade increase – because they require commensurable systems of conceptual measurement in order to suppress neuroticism (insecurity, fear), cooperate, and cooperate in networks of increasing complexity, without causing retaliation and retaliation cycles, which inhibit that cooperation at best and at worst cause conflict and war.

    3) Given the hierarchy of accessible systems of measurement from the imitative to the anthropomorphic to the theological, to philosophical, to empirical, to scientific, to operational, the lowest common denominator available to all humans independent of their varying capacity for reason, is anthropomorphism. Conversely, the less intuitive and the more rational, the less available to humans.

    4) In addition, the less trust a people have of one another, and the more diverse and alienating the population for those within it, the greater the difficulty in converting the submission to authority necessary for suppression of self interest and deferring gratification and contribution to the commons from parent to elders, to headmen, or their abstractions in institutions.

    5) As such between (a) the need for a framework of understanding sufficient for action, among others in populations at scale, (b) the necessity of suppressing neuroticism (c) facilitating the development of trust necessary for cooperation (d) the spectrum of ability ad competency where the anthropomorphic is the most simplistic (e) and utility of the abstraction to an ideal anthropomorphic entity to overcome local absence of trust in one another. (f) then it is logical we should develop religions (disciplines of intuition) with more anthropomorphism among lower trust peoples, and less anthropomorphism among higher trust peoples. (g) And the resistance to surpassing the use of abstract deities (god, gods) and restoring say, natural religion of hero, ancestor, and nature ‘debt recognition and appreciation’ (worship, submission to the pack response), or graduating to say, stoicism-epicureanism, or graduating further to say, natural law and man as gods in the making, is persistent as long as the distribution of ability-inability, agency-submission, and empathizing-systematizing, division is below a threshold where a majority can naturally form norms traditions values, rituals, narratives, and institutions that favor higher trust methods of achieving mindfulness, standards of measure, and the trust and cooperation that results.

    6) As such, in lieu of aggressive eugenics, the production of an intuition in a population within a normal distribution requires greater investment and training as we attempt to evolve from the easily intuitionistic and anthropomorphic to the necessity of understanding that which requires accumulation of knowledge of others, the world, and the universe. (hence why stoicism-epicureanism failed to propagate to the lower classes leaving room for christianity (a religion of women, slaves, and the lower classes)).

    7) As such, to answer the question provoking this response, god as a proxy (substitute) for decidability is necessary as long as: (a) our population is only sufficiently competent for such a paradigm of measurement and decidability (b) our population lacks the trust necessary for greater directness of debt recognition’ (worship), and (c) our knowledge of the universe is sufficient to provide decidability on the one hand and the suppression of false alternatives (marxism-to-woke) on the other.

This is the most complete and correct answer you will find. And your response to this answer will tell you more about your trust in others than what is possible for the production of the intuition of trust and cooperation in a population. 😉

  • All religions fail, and must fail, post-agrarianism unless they are reduced to l

All religions fail, and must fail, post-agrarianism unless they are reduced to law, that is testable, decidable, and resolves differences, thus facilitating cooperation.

Religions are simple myths that convey subjectively experiential values for use as general rules of behavior.

In this way they contain unconscious rules (metaphysical grammars) that do not require young adult reason, or mature empiricism.

In the hierarchy of grammars, from anthropomorphic to mythic to theological to philosophical to rationalism to empiricism to science to operationalism, we require the least cognitive and informational density at the beginning and the most cognitive effort and informational density at the end.

Therefore as the complexity of social economic technological and political orders increase, we develop not only classes under the division of labor, but cognitive classes each using grammars of their class, in hierarchical order.

As such, where, in primitive societies classes were marginally indifferent, in advanced societies classes are marginally different and sometimes vastly so.

So, instead of a unifying religion of the simple and anthropomorphic experiential we require a strategy for the grop that is consistent whether described at that mythological and intuitionistic level or at the calculative and unintuitive level.

As such the only solution is a non-false religion that can be expressed mythically to computationally.

The only religion I know of that does this is nature worship, ancestor worship, hero worship, and ‘nation-worship’. Because all religion provokes a debt response, producing the submission response, producing the sense of safety in the group, producing mindfulness, because of shared systems of values and measurements. This is why religions function for all humans – but grammars (paradigms) of differ across humans and in particular vary by race.

So, (a) first understand your group evolutionary strategy and why it has been successful, and (b) then attempt to translate past religions in to a new religion that is no longer false. And is, at worst, metaphysically presumptive and narrative.

Why? Because the truth is quite challenging – we are relevant to the universe – it is a vast hostile irradiated wasteland, and even this planet seeks to genocide us with disturbing regularity – and as such must become, as our ancient pre-christian ancestors understood, competitors to the gods, so by our reason and civility eventually replace them as gods ourselves.
