I had this same conversation with Paul Gottfried 20 years ago. Psychologizing behavior in Freudian terms is almost always a frame of those who are weak.

For the strong, it’s a simple digestible signal of non-aggression providing armor against criticism that hurts opportunities and networks of employees, dependents and allies.

So rather than ego massage, it’s free advertising of virtue signals in the age of woke religion and competition by virtue signal spirals. Because where people who lack agency seek psychology those with agency see simple utility.

As far as I know, all emotions and all language are just negotiation – and the underlying motivations for all human behavior are tragically trivial: acquisition at escalating discount.

Everything else is just moralizing to war (negotiate).

This strange difference between the female/empathic frame and the masculine/martial frame pervades the Left-Right discourse. And it wasn’t there before the marxist-neo-marxist-pomo-pc/woke movements.

I can’t figure out if the Jewish vs European conflict is that simple. (likely)
