Again this is a question of trade-offs because of time pressure. The governments are handling this badly because the CDC and WHO didn’t do the one job desired: war plans and war games – and the military, who does, has been disintermediated from politics.

This is a fruitless discussion because the science isn’t driving the issue, politics is – because politicians must act with fragmentary information in real-time.
Science (like math) is ignorant of time and cost. But plague, war, and economics aren’t. They are making trade offs.

Each geopolitical analyst who engages in prediction whether me, Turchin, Zeihan, or Friedman has a bias. From most POVs it is difficult to deny the vaccine, just as it is easy to deny the abuse of the event by factions. You, and a minority, are biased toward the latter. Not them.
