Give it time. Trump gained the tech sector. He can’t cut them off until the more serious immigration issues are solved. The right always makes the mistake of trying to solve everything at once instead of incrementally allowing the population to adapt and in doing so lowering…

Q:–“Do you think Elon should be totally ignored and not rebutted?”–

I think rational debate in matters of public import is always good. I think the problem is due to asymmetric knowledge and incentives. And that we must find a solution despite the resulting variation. The only way to do that is open debate. Thankfully Elon created X so that we can finally have those debates again.

I think we all have a balance scale in our minds.
We each have a collection of weights we put on each side – the case for and against.
Our understanding and our interests determine those weights – and they vary, often quite a bit.
I think elon is correct about the top .01% of scientific and technical talent.
I think my list of recommendations is correct (see below).
I think we should aggressively deport everyone and anyone who won’t ‘buy in’ meaning full integration.
I think some groups cannot fully integrate: islamists, and that said, look at the damage done by the jews.
I am concerned some other groups can but the demographic distribution is a burden not a contribution (race issues).
I am more concerned about white rates of reproduction.
I am most concerned about he decline in average IQ because that determines EVERYTHING.

THE ANSWER TO THE H1B DEBATE?
    (a) US colleges are selecting against white males.
    (b) US colleges are selecting in favor of foreigners b/c $.
    (c) The IQ distribution in China means that with a much larger population they will produce as many +130 as the USA and Europe combined.
    (d) The IQ distribution in India means that while they produce around the same total +130, they are more likely to pursue USA jobs given the asymmetry of rewards.
    (e) Net is that we (the west) do not produce enough +130 to compete in science and tech without SUPPLEMENTING our +130 with theirs.
    (f) Policy must be:
    – i) to exhaust the US supply before including foreign students in colleges and universities,
    – ii) and Visa must be limited to top talent,
    – iii) and birthright citizenship and chain migration must be prohibited.

As in all things demographics drive everything. That’s my understanding of the data.

There is a vast difference between debate in the pursuit of shared ends, and criticism to undermine unshared ends.

—“Doesn’t Free Speech also come with the responsibility to listen to the criticism?”—

Does it? Listening to criticism? That’s not a property of free speech. That might be a property of utility, or debate or wisdom. But as someone who spends time on social media yourself what percentage of feedback is of any value whatsoever?
In my experience the only value of feedback is the discovery of opportunities to educate. It rarely if ever contributes anything at all to the discourse.
In other words the ancestral european presumption of equality that we inherited from the greeks and the steppe, is a presumption that allows for freedom of speech. But it places no obligation on others to listen. Otherwise Karens would overload the discourse even more than the left uses its gossiping, shaming, rallying, moralizing, psychologizing, and propaganda to overload the discourse.

A property of free speech is the ability to ignore or walk away from those exercising it. It’s the freedom to speak your mind, it’s not the duty of others to listen.

So the ‘mute’ feature (which I use*) does not censor (prevent) speech, it avoids (ignores) speech we don’t want…

Context: Current debate between some right wing and musk et al over H1B visas.
    1) false criticism: “in addition to the last comment you do realize universities discriminate against white men in favor of women and “minorities” already living in America.” Because answered with (a).
    2) false accusation: “You are completely wrong about the nature of the problem.” not so per (a)
    3) Straw man fallacy: attempt to amplify your false criticism to favor your bias by the combination.
    Also:
    4) Fact: foreigner dominated staff biases against the domestic population.
    5) Fact: much cheaper workforce.
    6) Also: I have built and sold two $100m tech consulting companies. My company was hired by msft to do the original white papers on analysis of overseas tech outsourcing.
    7) Also: use perplexity or other engine to collect data and don’t disagree with me unless you have. I have been wrong. Its just historically uncommon.
