There is a lag of 72 hours between the time I think “US needs to do x” and it hits the news as US policy. Which I interpret as the US is predictable, uses the world news in addition to various intel sources to process decisions, and is about a week or so ahead of events.

The undergraduate campus appears to be destructive to education, though explaining why is work. There is no need for undergrad for med or law. There is a need for undergrad for a subset of engineering. Everything else is better served as occupational training and apprenticeship

FWIW: US DOD/INTEL/STATE Interest includes understanding of who they can reach and negotiate with when RU inevitably gives up their war. So while this sounds a bit dim, it’s preserving a path to peace negotiations with a general who has the influence to negotiate with authority.
