Just spoke to a young guy from Kiev who has only been here a year. Good kid. Average. Good manners. Repaired phones in UA. Was not up to the war.
Me: “I was happier in Kiev and L’viv than any other time of my life. ;)”
Yaroslav “Yeah I agree, it was good to live there before war, but not anymore 😔. And more freedom in Ukraine if you got money.”
That last bit, which I entirely agree with, is painful. I felt more free in ukraine and russia than I did anywhere in Europe or North America. For all intents and purposes, the government barely exists. Friends and family matter instead of the state.
