FWIW: This is not a foolish strategy given that RU is still a multiethnic empire over 11 time zones with limited economic capacity, OTHER than that he’s trying to expand into europe instead of secure central and eastern Russia.

Of course, it takes a Russian to think like a Russian.
And yes, most analysis is western (effeminate drama) that cannot comprehend the world outside of the talking classes. Russia replaced Boyars using violence with gangsters using organized and bureaucratic violence – but both boyars and gangsters are just pragmatic businessmen that retain the capacity to use coercion and violence as needed.
