THE POOR WANT TO SURVIVE. THE PRIVILEGE TALK POLITICS. –“Are the People of the Donbas Communist Sympathisers?”— Again, a privileged bit of silliness. The people in the donbas are fucking dirt poor and it sucks like hell, and the technological revolution that is floating ukraine in the other cities is not there. Right now it is a depopulated wasteland. Think detroit after a civil war. Think of the donbas as say, coal mining regions of wales, or the hills of kentucky, or any of the cities in america that live off state financed military (naval) production, all rolled into one. in 1992 their freaking world fell apart and without the organized redistribution of commerical activity to their region by state military investment, they have NO HOPE. They want pensions, redistribution, and they remember the REAL GOOD that was done for them by the soviet union. THe soviets were TERRIBLE for eastern europe but they were not terrible for many rural russian peasants. PEOPLE REACH FOR WHAT THEY UNDERSTAND. what they just want is food, clothing, shelter, security, family and to have a few hopes that are within reach of achievement. A middle or working class privileged person is a communist sympathizer. He has a luxury. A poor person is just DESPERATE.
