@Clark_Kent@PoisonDartPepe You seem (oddly) to be of the opinion that despite all of human history, it is not possible for men to engage in production as well as police the commons and fight in war, as if people are widgets that cannot perform multiple functions – despite the historical record of the opposite. Markets are competitive. Politics is competitive. Policing is competitive. War is Competitive. Men can either compete and not parasitically depend upon others, or they cannot. That is evolution’s judgement.

It is made worse by their liability and need to over prosecute, and inability to use discretion. Inability to categorize and profile individuals given that stereotypes are the most accurate measure in social science. and a hundred other malincentives.

Putin has tripled the volume of cases in the courts and incrementally suppressed the abuses of those courts, and yes he has privatized sufficient wealth that the oligarchs and organized crime cannot interfere with his project. But he will never let western decadence into Russia.
