(FB 1543321910 Timestamp) I make my own butter from heavy cream because I’m so allergic to whatever preservatives they put in it. And standing there with an electric mixer patiently I keep imagining thousands of years of women doing it by hand. And how much work that single task is – just one among the dozens of others required for survival. The endless physical work under agrarianism…. and the archaeological sites that show women’s knee joints and their wear.
