Don’t be rude to the little people.

    (More bangs for the buck?)

Have you ever considered ex-wife collecting? It’s an interesting hobby of mine.

I found it was much cheaper to collect ex-girlfriends and ex-fiancées than ex wives, but collecting is still a great hobby either way.

In retrospect I highly recommend collecting ex-lovers, ex-girlfriends and ex- fiancées and forgoing ex-wife collecting.

More bangs for the buck so to speak.

I don’t have to do anything.

    Let the bulls run.

Let loose the dogs of intellectual war.

Moral man needs only moral authority.

After that, it’s all his choice.

    And his honor.

    His glory.

    Truth is enough.

Rather than seek approval or consent, offer support, kindness, affection, love, and education to fellow victors. Never cede control to the immoral – which is what approval and consent give him. Spend your efforts on the true, good and beautiful. Never compromise or suffer the immoral, unethical, the deceitful, and the fool. Merely conquer, punish and ostracize the wicked.

    (nonsense)(life in Ukraine)

The clothing shops are filled. Any shop that sells ‘winter’ rather than ‘late autumn’ coats (anything but parkas), is loaded with people trying to combat the early winter.

In Ukraine, we wear serious winter coats. As in the upper-peninsula of Michigan kind of serious winter coats. I have made it through two winters without one. Instead, for the past couple of years I wore layers. I have this wonderful wool coat by Pierre Cardin, and one very similar by Roy Robson, and and brown and black insulated leather jackets. But last winter, in when it got seriously cold here, I had to bundle up inside my extra-large RLX ski- hoodie (it’s luxurious really), and a northwest wind barrier over it, with more layers underneath. And I still froze just going out for milk.

So this year I just bought an extra-large winter parka by Oodji (French)that fits over my black leather jacket, which fits over a shirt and heavy sweater. And that combination is awesome. It’s like an oven. Although, around here you do need either winter pants or long-johns. And I don’t have either that, or a good pair of winter boots (which I also did without last year).

Last year, I promised myself I would not spend another deep winter in Kiev. But no matter where I spend the winter, at least i’ll be warm. 😉

And it’s damned cold here today.

  • Winter Victories, and Letting God Sort Them Out

[I]t’s winter in Kiev. It’s 27F. It’s noticeably dark early again. I’ve hung up the leather jacket, switched to the wool coat and layers. The shops have heavily discounted what remains of fall, and those without winter stock are empty. They’ve skipped the ‘autumn’ coat season here and gone right to winter-wear. The music playlists have returned to normal – more synth and rock suitable for clubs, less pop suitable for cafes. Slavic men look GOOD in continental urban winter men’s wear – rather than our american faux-outdoorsman-look that hides our bulging american bellies. Winter wear is elegant here and varied. You can’t find mens’ shoes that aren’t insulated.

[O]n my part, my body must have known, because I gained 3.5 kilos in the past two months, and it’s time to stop storing up fat for the winter already. 🙂 I also realized that I am subconsciously afraid of another winter here, because last winter, between the US government trying to kill me, the financial catastrophe it put me into, the hostile takeover of my previous company, the revolution putting my new business at risk, Putin’s invasion of these beautiful people, and being sick for 12 weeks in the late winter and spring, that there is a left over bit of trauma in there I haven’t been able to expunge.

Meanwhile I still managed to fight off the government, settle the take-over amicably, get the men out of the country, nearly complete the product, open the intellectual attack on libertine Rothbardians, drop the winter weight, write some pretty solid philosophy.

[L]iberty just requires we demand truth-telling. Never surrender. Give no quarter. Show no mercy. If necessary, kill them all and let god sort it out. 😉

    Cheers.
