Whose sense of humor does Dr. Brad’s sense of humor remind you of? 😉

I’m tediously empirical, and not ideological about it, and I’m deservedly skeptical about most health claims. I eliminate something, eat clean, try it again, then observe the results and eliminate it. Nearly everything I’ve eliminated is due to it containing any form of chemistry whatsoever, including that chemistry we call fermentation which, unfortunately, is in nearly everything: cheese, sauces, etc. All preservatives are horrific. Anything with sulfites (everything) is horrible. MSG might as well be anesthesia, it’s such a strong sedative with such harsh allergic reactions. The only other thing that’s obvious is red meat is irreplaceable with anything, and that milk, butter, eggs, red meat and green vegetables, water and coffee are pretty much the limit. If I eat clean, inflammation goes down, so does my asthma, I sleep better, and my energy is better. And sunlight is perhaps the best curative. I’ve tried all sorts of vitamins and supplements, and nothing has any effect at all that’s positive.

(Health Update)(personal)
Another incremental improvement. I have enough energy for minor household chores and such. I’ve even repaired a few electronic bits around the house. I can remember what day it is. The sense of background noise or confusion is mostly gone. I can sense subtle logical variations again. I can organize larger scopes of work again. I can hold most of the work in my head again – if not all of it, though I still can have trouble recalling the occasional noun. And my associative autobiographical memory is gradually returning. Which ‘they’ tell me is a very good sign.
Some of my mental recovery is due to the joy at making consistent progress on the work, even if I’m only capable of working two or three hours a day with someone from the team. But the team is dedicated and amazing and we work seven days a week, online, via zoom and it’s hard and tedious work.
And yes, I have to rest a great deal still – around 14 hours. But that rest is paying off. The only ‘oddity’ is that Peterson is right about the lion diet, at least for me, and the closer I get to it by eliminating what causes a reaction the better my health improves, and the closer my diet approaches the lion diet. Meaning my freezer is full and my refrigerator and cabinets are not. 😉
I’ve gone from being relatively certain I had not only lost my higher faculties, to barely being able to walk, and was increasingly concerned I would kick the bucket, to the point where I can see that within a year, I might be myself again. (God forbid. I know…) 😉
It’s thanks to my suite of doctors really, and in no small part to the encouragement of my many friends. Dr’s opinion was universal that if I just gave myself time I’d recover. And I’m glad they were more optimistic than I was.
Cheers to supporters, followers, friends, and those I love.

(aspie oddities)
I have a visceral reaction to art, symbolism, logo graphics, and branding for historical reasons (study of art, and work on sciencing aesthetics), so I try not to think about it at all. But oddly enough, and quite seriously, just briefly glancing the NPR logo fills me with disgust and revulsion, making me want to vomit from deep in my stomach and with full force of my diaphragm. How’s that for conditioning? (sigh)

I’m not at all impressed by glasswork. And I’m not a fan of the glassmaking art scene. But the fact is that it’s some seriously macho street cred when you work with glass. 😉

(anesthesian humor)
Ready go into the operating room. They start the anesthesia. The doctor leaves, the after a bit, returns just as it’s taking effect. I say “Hey! You popped your stack!” in my usually overly gregarious form, no longer limited by self regulation. He gives me this strange look, sticks the papers back in the tray by the door, then moves on.
I’m confused. Because, well, to my programmer’s mind, he went a way (pushed onto the stack) and came back (popped from the stack). And it was an entirely sensible think to say at the time. Entirely. … 😉
That’s about all I remember before waking up in recovery.
Nurses said with knowing smiles that I was funny under anesthesia. God knows what the heck I said to them. I’m not vulgar in any way, but observant, overly truthful, complimentary, and inadvertently flirtatious – which apparently leads to humor.
And no. They would not let me streak naked around the post-op floor when I discovered that I didn’t have the expected nerve damage they’d warned me about. 😉
But I tried. (There are photos).
Nurses are joy killers.

I’m incautious on social media, yes. But then, that incaution tends to filter out midwits, while the depth of the content is appreciated by their betters.

Some YT clown making a penetration test video in the woods – and midway, off in the distance, and out of focus, a guy in a bigfoot costume making his way through the brush. 😉
Humans are fun. 😉
