Humans don’t so much reason, as they attempt to evade prosecution for the seizure of opportunities for discounts (gains) by expanding the limits of tolerance for irreciprocity.
This is one of the first principles of the formal logic of natural law. (means, motive, opportunity)

I think the fundamental problem is that people want a single set of rules so that they can abandon reason in life (work blame reciprocal understanding of one another ) when all decidability (knowledge) consists of a spectrum.
