    Russians are a low trust society, and they don’t understand that the west is successful because of the ‘religious’ devotion of the judiciary, police, and military to rule of law under a constitution of natural law (reciprocity). So they demand democracy – and they’re wrong.

    @nogg_the @Billbrowder I didn’t see people getting the hell beaten out of them, I saw a line of police with batons clearing a street, some protesters physically resisting, some attacking those police, and some interfering with the arrest of those resisting and attacking, and police acting responsibly.

    @hasan93r I don’t know what monarchy means to you, but in the Hoppeian sense, it means a family with intergenerational interests that prohibit consuming commons. Judges sometimes fail, just as governments fail, just as private markets fail – and the failure is due to the means of deciding.
