Brad and I worked on disambiguating politics (behavior) from political demand (economics of political behavior) today. And as usual, the depth of the human behavioral rathole is always deep but ends in the same place: the same behavior just at increasing scales and malincentives.

Interesting thought. Hadn’t gone there. I assume that like most mental problems (depression to schizophrenia) it’s related to a combination of genetics and immunological conflicts. Given the seasonality of many issues that’s an interesting theory worth exploring.
