My primary concern with social media is the impact on already fragile teen development, and the twenties mating and dating cycle, which has turned into a feeding frenzy where everyone loses (a generation or more), and produces subsequent familial collapse.

As far as I know, the negative consequence of social media is the ability to use virtue signaling to instigate moral offense (panic), and the resulting cycles of competition over moral panic and virtue signal spirals. Bad? It’s an addiction response like Pavlov’s dogs salivating.

@highdigger44 @hoeberian Having had the same symptoms for the same reason, though not as bad, and while much younger, (a) it takes about four years to recover (b) some of us are never the same after ‘near death’ experiences (c) we lose energy and will for fighting the good fight (d) he backslid to faith.
