I don’t really know why ‘it was so difficult’ to put together ternary logic, human behavior, and trifunctionalism, other than the ternary logic of coercion (seduction, exchange, force) was relatively unknown.

The problem with the use of via-negativa king of the hill games to research human behavior, is that the fact that it works to bypass signaling, and exposes our biases, so offends those researched they can’t recover from it even if we find they’re correct – it poisons the well.
