Do men ever feel powerless? I don’t think so. Only in utter desperation, or terribly weak or broken in character. Instead, most men feel that there is only so much effort that they can spend on achievement. Women think in approval and disapproval. Men in costs and returns.

Again, short-term interpersonal perception w/ failure of long germ systematic perception. The economy that favors women in the postwar period requires consumption but women aren’t producing replacment population to preserve consumption, and redistribution to pay for their aging.
