Um. I’m not clear what you’re saying. If you mean that we do a better job of categorizing and organizing cognitive and emotional failures than does the DSM industry, then I’d probably say that in many cases that might be true. If you mean they’re often wrong – that’s true. If you mean many therapies don’t work – that’s true. If you say that the mainstream hasn’t converted to a science yet, then that’s partly true. But it’s also true that it continues to make progress in that direction. If you mean that therapy is pretty questionable, then that’s absolutely true, given that the distribution of inability in therapy is far wider than in other professions. So not sure I understand what case you’re making.
