Cooperation may be an anthropocentric term, but, given that we are developing a universally commensurable scale independent operational paradigm, vocabulary, and logic, it is the one term with the most universally applicable meaning whether deterministic (physics), autonomous(cells), involuntary(organisms), or genetic incentives(sentient organisms), or negotiated (conscious organisms), the behavior is the same: two or more sets of otherwise stable relations discover opportunities for exchanges of acquisition whether energy, mass, transformation, or information – the result of which is a productive increase the organization of energy in time in the defeat of entropy.

Not that I’m other than a critic of Blackrock, but in this case, as he’s saying, I don’t think he’s wrong. What he’s indirectly saying is ‘stop immigration’. In other words there is no economic need for immigration if we automate, because it is those imigrant jobs that will be automated. I’ve made the case that we have 100m too many people in the USA for the enxt century, and that most of them are dead weight and unemployable. I have a lot of respect for you, particularly your falsification of the Saltwater school nonsense – but I don’t require we agree on what is possible, only on what is. You’re very good at what is. Maybe the best we have.
I’m still not sure why both Christians and Rothbardian libertarians share the fundamentalist intuition that we must agree on what is possible or probable vs that we must agree on what is.
Whereas those of us who are empiricists, in the natural law tradition, which is more accurately the anglo classical liberal tradition, only need to agree on what is bad, and prohibit what is bad, so that any permutation and combination of goods may emerge from the markets for cooperation.
That does not require we are correct about what is possible or probable – it’s not a theoretical idealism. It’s purely empirical. And as far as I know that is the western tradition.
