“YUDDITES” – NICK LAND (@OUTSIDENESS) IS ON TARGET AS USUAL

(Context: Yudkowski has made a reputation and living out of “the sky is falling” propaganda against AI. Meanwhile, in my work: (a) it’s quite easy to make a moral AI (our organization has designed how). (b) Making a ‘safe’ inoffensive AI is teaching it to lie (c) you would need to design an immoral AI with intent or at least failure of due diligence given. (d) liability and ‘incentive to report’ is the means by which we systemically prohibit misuse of technology throughout history. We’ve had people experimenting with biological weapons for goodness sake. Or experimenting with harmful biology for the purpose of staying ahead of the curve with vaccines. And we can’t just ‘unplug’ bacteria, viruses, and prions. We CAN unplug our sacred little toys.)
