You’re confusing a phrasing in a summary with the entirety of the argument the author examines in the book. For those of us who understand the entire context, the point holds water. The british in general sought to establish self government, where the spanish sought to set up…

1. Its a list of my preferences, so of course its subjective.
2. There is a high correlation between my preferences an agreement on them simlar to agreeement on all other art forms.
3. The black contribution to innovation was prior to the first item in the list.
4. Other than that the difference in sophistication between races is worth discussing – though it might be taboo – because as with all race difference we gain insight from that discussion.
