As some one who has followed your work for decades, and learned valuable insights from you, I perceive you as a classical liberal who like many from our generation took insight from the libertarian movements.
I work from similar intuitions, but the left shift has driven me work with those more conservative only because they are willing to take responsibility for making a difference, primarily because they have given up hope that if they donβt no one will.
So while I consider myself a libertarian in the Hayekian sense of Anglo classical liberal, that does not mean I have faith that this is the natural predisposition of mankind by seeking liberty in exchange for responsibility.
Instead the left and the left uncomfortably enabled by the sex asymmetry in responsibility bias, dramatically exacerbated by the expansion of single women in education, consumption,voting and political agitation, seeks freedom of consumption and freedom from responsibility for capital accumulation and preservation.
There is political company we agree with, and political alliance that is utility or necessity. And some is freely chosen, and some we are driven to.
