September 17th, 2018 2:18 PM Curt Doolittle —” ….since January he had been putting together a binder cataloguing drug arrests in the state, and that “90-plus per cent of those pictures in my book, and it’s a three-ringed binder, are black and Hispanic people”.—- He is speaking truthfully. —“He never said the majority of criminals were black he said the ones he put in his book were but read right below that and you see the actual unbiased evidence from the FBI which shows the majority is White and only 14% were Black.”— I am still chasing the data. the data from maine is that 1% blacks 14% arrests. —“But the photos of the 51 people facing heroin or other opioid drug charges show that only 47 percent, or 24 individuals, appear to be black or Hispanic. The remaining 53 percent, or 27 people, are white”— So half his book … less than 5% of the population produced half his book. But that doesn’t tell us if the distributors are coming from ct and ny, which is what I understood him to stay. lots of spam. not much content. The question is why, given the state collects the data, he was compiling his own…. So he was vastly overstating his case. —“The person who made the book made the racist claim. The FBI gathered the actual data that show the claim is wrong. The circumstances and the actions of the person who made the claim show the person to be racist.”—Frank Mueller Well you can make that claim. the data on out of state dealers is not yet available. when it is, we will see. —“They are talking about 2014 they have all the data.”—Frank Mueller I have found no data in any one’s hands that states the composition of the dealers transiting supply from NY and CT to Maine. So if they have the data it is not mentioned anywhere that I have found (hard to imagine it doesn’t exist). And I specialize in debunking pseudoscientific and pseudo-rational fictionalisms. Until I see some evidence that the man was wrong in those claims, I am assuming he is making a deduction from his study of the sample cases he referred to in his binder, and for the purpose of his hyperbolic expression (which is how conservatives demonstrate their bias for the intertemporal categorical imperatives), overstated the case. As in all things a sample size of less than one thousand is very hard to test. As in all things a self-selected sample size is questionable – intentional or not. The import trade in Heroin is largely from mexico and the import distribution network, and the end user distribution network are of different composition. As far as I know the heroin import trade from mexico remains largely a hispanic organization. I haven’t done any research on the NY/NJ import trade. As far as I know the end user distribution trade mirrors the demographic distribution. As far as I know, as always, the crime rates are highly asymmetrical cross racial groups for the simple reason that they describe the ‘ability’ distribution (median) of each group – and both groups demonstrate lower medians on the ability distribution. In other words, people of color are far more likely to engage in criminal activities for the simple reason that there are more of them per capita in the demographic distribution of ability that chooses black market activity, and therefore have fewer alternative options in outside of the black market we call the drug trade. And furthermore, as in all things, people of lesser ability are more likely to make errors that result in their getting caught. In other words as far as I know the biases are not racial in the first place but racial due to asymmetry of distributions in racial groups. ie: ashkenazim wider standard deviation than whites. East asians higher median, lower standard deviation than whites. This is just data. But since people rely out of necessity on stereotypes and stereotypes are the most accurate measure in the social sciences; and since we do not educate people about the inequality of the class distributions between the races, people rationally intuit that what is a class size problem is a racial problem. Denying it doesn’t do anything but simply drive truthful reporting underground which is why the accuracy of surveys has been in rapid decline: people simply self report the pretense of equality while demonstrating belief in inequality in their actions. Anyway. This isn’t important other than another demonstration of the fact that the herd (left/female) and the pack (right/male) are able to express their reproductive, moral, social, and cognitive biases, and that while the right understands the left but can’t imagine how they could be mistaken, the left cannot imagine the right (see Haidt). So you are arguing from the position of the herd and displaying your cognitive bias, and he is arguing from the pack and displaying his but you attribute to him evil, and he attributes to you error. We don’t have all that much agency unfortunately. So we think we reason, where we are just riders on the elephant of our genetic instructions. —“You need to go to the FBI UCR for that year.
